I wanted to let all of our members, dealers, and show attendees know that unfortunately, GemFest 2025 will not be taking place this year as a result of logistical challenges. We are planning to move the timing of the show so that it doesn’t conflict with other activities in the area that same weekend, but I was unable to solidify the timing for the move in time to also coordinate with vendors and update signs & marketing material this year. Quite honestly, I tried to do too much myself and didn’t delegate effectively.
The great news is that this has been discussed with the membership during meetings, workshops, calls, emails, and texts; and I have two solid volunteers who are going to assist me with making sure GemFest 2026 will go off without a hitch. I’m already working with the fantastic staff at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center to get a contract in place for the desired 2026 dates. As soon as dates are locked in for 2026, I will begin sending out contracts to our previous vendors to see who would be available to return for the relaunch of GemFest; and will also be excited to work with our volunteer that will be leading the marketing efforts going forward to start getting the word out early about the new weekend for the show.
Keep your eyes out for additional news regarding the first weekend of June – the club is definitely planning something for that weekend that we’re hoping to get as many members as possible to participate in.
Also, club member Howard Heitner is planning to hold a private sale from his collection that the club will invited to shop at. Further information to follow on that from Howard – I know I’m looking forward to it!
