My latest commission is a view of the glacially carved field on Rte. 21 south of Naples, NY. near where I live. I worked on location twice, which was a beautiful (and challenging) experience as the sun set over this ancient landscape -- which got dark very quickly!

The glacier that created Canandaigua Lake left piles of glacial till as it slowly receded north. My client lives on a hill overlooking this view. Worried it would be lost to development, they asked me to paint the view to save it. Fortunately for us all, the Finger Lakes Land Trust purchased it in 2025 with help from the Canandaigua Watershed Council, to preserve wildlife habitat and lake water quality.

I appreciate these chances to take on new subject matter that offers unique challenges. I'm happy with the feeling I captured with this painting.

The Holiday Pop-Up in Naples is a beautifully curated shopping experience! If you are looking for uniquely crafted gifts by local artists , this is for you. I have prints of favorite local barns for sale there, as well as several framed mini original oil paintings of our local vistas.

I painted this watercolor as a gift to my friend Edie who lives in Bristol Center. She has lived in this lovely house for 66 years, raised her family there, and hosted many holiday celebrations there with family and friends. What a thrill to please her with a portrait of her beloved home.
