The Fall session of the Beginning Steel Drum Band program starts Wednesday, Sept 23, 4:00-5:00 at David's UCC, 80 W. Columbus St. This program is open to youth, 10 to 18 years old. The Steel Band program has been a part of our community for 27 years. It was the first such program in Central Ohio. The Advanced Steel Drum Bands has opened for the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, accompanied BalletMet dancers and has earned a national reputation. We have worked with Grammy Award winners and icons of the Steel Drum world.

There are no residency requirements for members and their families. Students can attend public schools, private schools or be home schooled. There are no fees charged to participate. We know that sounds unusual, but our Advanced Steel Drum Bands perform around the Central Ohio area throughout the year. Each of these events earns income for the program. We are then able to offer beginning players free participation. The focus is on the players, not the business.

Throughout rehearsals, the students will learn playing skills, Music reading skills and history of this unique instrument. And most importantly have a positive learning experience that they can carry with them each day.

We offer this program as a way to share the joy and therapy of Community Arts programs and Wi******er Steel Co. Steel Drum Band program is dedicated to the complete Music Education of our youth.

The backyard of the home on Trine Street where we planned the Birthday Party is a lot like most of ours right now.
Pretty flooded. It may be fine come Saturday, but we’re not going to risk it.

Our 3rd Birthday Party for the CWPAC has been moved to Canal Wi******er Methodist Church, 15 W Columbus St.
We’ll be around the back side of the building. There shouldn’t be any parking concerns.

It’s still 1:00-4:00, Saturday, Aug 22.

Free food, CWPAC Merch, Gift Card raffle!
See you soon!
