Oh, just look at that picture. It's it heartbreaking. All those Steel Drums and no one is playing them. The Wi******er Steel program is on Summer Break. The pans are all alone.

Hey, I have an idea! You should join us at the Discover Steel Drums Workshop, Saturday, June 27, 2:00-3:3:30 at David's UCC, 80 W Columbus St. Canal Wi******er! This is a chance to see what playing Steel Drum is all about, learn some of the history of the instrument and the Trinidad people that created it, and have a Music experience that can't be matched. You'll also make these pans very happy.

No previous experience is needed. The songs will be taught through a Letter Name and Imitation process. Check out the flier. You can read more about the workshop and preregister to reserve your spot at CWPerformingArts.info. We will take walk-ins the day of the workshop.

We had an absolute blast with Eric Paton and everyone that participated in our Taiko workshop today. Please join Eric and the Canal Wi******er Performing Arts Collective tomorrow, Sunday, June 14, for a Brazilian Samba Workshop. We're at the Stradley Pavilion in downtown Canal Wi******er from 1:00 to 2:00. You can just walk-in. The workshop is open to all ages.
We do have an indoor location very near by if weather demands.

A big thanks to the Groveport Senior Center, the players from the Wi******er Steel Co. and the great audience for incredible time this afternoon. Our ensemble, a mixture of High School and Adult players played a variety of songs for an hour that the audience sang along with and got up and danced!

I want to invite you to join us at the Japanese Taiko and Brazilian Samba workshops this coming weekend.
Both workshops are scheduled for the CW Stradley Pavilion, though we have an indoor location near by if weather demands.
Japanese Taiko - Saturday, June 13, 1:00-2:00
Brazilian Samba - Sunday, June 14, 1:00-2:00

Oh, I know, you’re thinking, “I’m not really a drummer.”
It’s OK. Our session leader, Eric Paton is a highly skilled educator who will craft the time to fit everyone’s comfort level.
We look at these experiences as an opportunity to build our community and share the wonderfully unique elements of these cultures.
Elements that the average central Ohioan is unaware of.

Does the summer sun and upcoming World Cup make you crave a bit of Brazilian flare? We might just have the solution. While we can't bring you to Brazil, we can bring a slice of Brazil to you! Join us next Sunday, June 14, for a special workshop on Brazilian samba drumming.🇧🇷🥁🎶

Samba drumming is the parade music of Brazil, and what you are likely to hear if you visit for Carnival! This style includes drums and hand held percussion instruments like the agogo, tambourim and surdo. This hands-on workshop will let you have a taste of Brazil's national music. You won't want to miss this!🤩

Next Sunday afternoon, join us at Stradley Pavilion in Canal Wi******er. There will be plenty of shade while being able to take in the fresh air and drum to your heart's content! We recommend comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather!☀️🕶️

Join us in one week for a unique and exciting opportunity to learn the art of Japanese Taiko Drumming! 🥁 🎶🇯🇵

This workshop introduces Japan's vibrant festival drumming through movement, vocalization, and stance. Originally brought to Japan by Chinese Buddhist monks, taiko is an art form that can teach us history, culture, social contexts, creative expression and communication.

Spend a sunny Saturday afternoon with us at Stradley Pavilion in Canal Wi******er. There will be plenty of shade while being able to take in the fresh air and drum to your heart's content! We recommend comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather!☀️🕶️

A big Thanks to the staff at the New Albany Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library for inviting members of our Adult Steel Band to perform for them and the New Albany Farmers' Market, last night. We had a great time and it is so much fun watching people singing and dancing along with our music.

Do you miss singing with a choir like in high school? 🎤Have you kept a dusty trumpet in your closet waiting to be played again?🎺 Do you watch a handbell choir and wish you could give it a whirl? 🔔 If so, look no further! We have a variety of performing arts opportunities available to you!

The summer sessions start this month, with plenty of opportunities to explore new performing arts experiences alongside other passionate community members. If you aren't sure you can commit to the full summer session, that's okay too--we have lots of individual workshops happening as part of our Summer Workshop Series from June through August. It's the perfect way to try something new!
