Everyone has those days and ladies and gentlemen, well today is ours…. other than next Friday opening for the great Sammy Kershaw at the Grotto in Poplar Bliff, Mo. I am announcing my retirement from country music. Or the pursuit there of. I was going to finish out my shows that I’ve had booked up untill September, but I believe my mental health to be more important. I do apologize to any venue this is going to effect, or those which I have been in contact with on booking, as well as my band mates, who have been the very foundation we have built upon. But I find it paramount to do so! Over the years this band he seen countless musicians who’s quality has no end. With the best of all being Mike Holand who’s steel guitar you see in our profile picture today. A representation and fond reminder of a GREAT Man. As well as David Little, Cody fox, Cameron Dye, Matt Simpson, Coty Noel, Shane Mullins, Justin Boswell, Hayden Rhodes, Brandon Reeder, Roger Campbell, the one and only Leevon Decourley, Bobby Lewis, Kayla Hienkebien, Jerrel Cloud and his sister Lisa Cloud. And a special friend Andy Cullum, who’s dedication to this band has surpassed that of my own. Each one of us hold a kinship that will never be forgotten! This decision has not came easily and the years as The Justin Heskett Band have been tremendously wonderful!!! Memories none of us will ever forget. I am absolutely thankful for the blessings and the opportunities the band and I have had over the years and the pictures and memories that will continue to remind us! Music will always be a must but I’m excited to see it from the side lines and in the back wood sheds
Where it was taught
In the words of
Carl Jung - we cannot change anything unless we accept it, as any change must begin somewhere, it is the single individual who will experience it and carry it through.
The very most heartfelt thank you to you all, and a blessing upon each and every one of you.
