I started doing puppets as a way to teach my (autistic) son about verbal communication. Later, I began to use puppetry to explain Autism to those who knew little about it, kids. The mission of the Big Shoe Puppets will continue to be “Entertain and Educate”. Whether I’m acting out Milton Hershey’s early career, or explaining why Peter Pan is often played by a woman, I’ll continue to look for ways to “explain the wide world” through interactive, accessible puppetry.
