POV: you’ve been saying “I need to touch grass” for 3 weeks straight and Harvard Rec finally called your bluff.

April 15. Fresh Pond. The whole loop. It’s 2.5 miles of flat, paved path around a reservoir that looks like it belongs in a screensaver. You won’t need hiking boots. You won’t need a Clif bar. You might need sunscreen but let’s be honest you’re not going to bring it.

They’re meeting at the Soch. You can bring your friends, your roommate, the person from your section you’ve been meaning to talk to outside of class. Or just show up solo and walk next to someone who also doesn’t want to be in Lamont right now.
It’s free. It’s easy. It’s the most outdoorsy thing you’ll do all semester and it’s literally a walk around a pond.

One week into the first-year experience, we’re looking back at how it started: First-Year IM Dodgeball on day one. Sorted into their Houses and thrown straight into the action, first-year students got an immediate introduction to intramural sports, campus recreation, team bonding, and the kind of student life energy that makes the start of the semester unforgettable. The annual dodgeball tournament brought competition, house pride, big reactions, and just the right amount of chaos as new teammates hit the court and got their first taste of college recreation. Between the instant team spirit, the fast throws, and the early rivalries, First-Year IMs set the tone for university intramurals and new student activities all semester long.

It’s officially Housing Day eve - and this year is one for the books. That means by Saturday, you’ll already know your House, and what better way to break in your new home than by throwing dodgeballs for its honor?

Harvard Recreation and the DSO are hosting an Intramural Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, March 28 from 2–6 PM at Lavietes Pavilion. Whether you’re repping , , , .house , , , , , , , , or this is your first chance to show out for your House. Not to mention an additional 35 points to the Straus cup, which can definitely change up some rankings. 👀

Freshmen, this is your initiation. Upperclassmen, this is your chance to welcome them properly. Rally your hallmates, paint your faces, and get loud. The tournament follows official dodgeball rules, all students are welcome to play or spectate, and there’s free refreshments for everyone.

Scan the QR code on the flyer to fill out the interest form and lock in your spot. Represent your House. Bring the energy. See you on the court 💪

Lights down. Music up. Pedals moving. 🎧🚴‍♀️

Our Live DJ Cycle Party turned the studio into a full-on workout rave as riders powered through climbs, sprints, and beats mixed live by DJ Chuby while instructor Ruby kept the energy high from the front of the room.

From the first drop to the final sprint, the room was packed with rhythm, sweat, and serious community energy.

Missed it this time? Don’t worry…we’re just getting warmed up.

Our Annual Skate Party is officially a wrap ⛸️❄️

Harvard Recreation brought the community together for a night on the ice filled with laughs, a few wobbly first laps, and a lot of “okay wait this is so fun.” Whether you were gliding confidently or holding onto the barrels (no judgment), the rink was packed with great energy and even better company.

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up and made it what it is every year. This is a reminder that recreation at Harvard isn’t just about lifting or logging miles. It’s about community.

Missed it? Don’t worry. We’ve got more events coming. Stay tuned.

Puppy love met mindful movement at our recent Dog Yoga class here at Harvard Recreation 🐾🧘‍♀️

Led by instructor , this special session brought together gentle yoga flows, intentional breathwork, and plenty of joyful interruptions from . Nothing beats grounding stretches to moments of laughter when Sasha decided it was time for extra snuggles (or a game of fetch mid-pose), and the energy in the room was everything we love about Harvard Recreation…welcoming, playful, and deeply human.

Dog Yoga was held as part of Harvard Recreation’s continued commitment to encouraging holistic wellness within the Harvard student body, faculty, staff, and surrounding community. Not only did we want to offer classes that helped folks move their body and de-stress, we wanted to create spaces that fostered community!

Thank you to everyone that joined us for this paw-sitively amazing event and stayed curious as Sasha explored every inch of our mezzanine. Keep an eye out for more wellness opportunities, yoga classes, and fitness events in the future!
