Our older groups have been exploring Gelli printing. We started with simple leave prints to learn the technique, then became creative with all kinds of tools and added more colors. Gelli prints are great as they allow free experimenting after a very short introduction period. Watch all the different ideas our groups came up with. And we aren’t done yet!

We love our pop-up workshops! Learning about perspective, depth, and geometry while having fun, that’s hard to beat. Naturally, we added some monsters to the mix.

Always a popular project, and a perfect introduction to abstract art. We use any cardboard boxes, lids, or geometric tools to create overlaying shapes, no rules. Fill some shapes with black, color the rest. The fun part is discovering faces and objects in the finished artwork.

Beautiful rainbows! We started with choosing and mixing the colors for our play dough, preparing our boards, did some math when dividing the dough into even parts, then sculpted and drew. So much learning, and so much fun!

Our first batch of abstract sculptures are done and we love them! The combination of sculpting, experimenting, painting, and drawing seemed perfect for starting the year. And of course, abstract art is great for encouraging personal expression.
