MEET THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Beth Alloway
Trustee
Beth Alloway joined the Cambridge Performing Arts Center Board of Trustees in 2026, bringing more than two decades of experience in education, leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. She has served as a high school English teacher at Caldwell High School for 24 years and has also worked as a drama director, yearbook and newspaper advisor, Student Council co-advisor, and CCP and adjunct college English instructor. Beth earned her bachelor's degree in education from Kent State University and a master's degree in English Literature from the University of Akron.
Beth's connection to CPAC began when her oldest daughter was cast in Beauty and the Beast. Since then, both of her daughters have participated in productions, and Beth has enjoyed watching not only her family but also many of her former students take the stage. Her own theater background includes directing high school drama, participating in community theater as a teenager, studying theater and public speaking in college, and taking 12 years of dance lessons in tap, kickline, and jazz.
Beth believes the arts provide young people with invaluable opportunities to build confidence, develop communication skills, express themselves creatively, and form lasting friendships. Having found community and belonging through theater herself, she is passionate about helping CPAC create that same welcoming environment for others.
Originally from Cuyahoga Falls, Beth has proudly called Cambridge home for the past 24 years. Outside of the theater, she enjoys reading, crocheting, needlework, and spending time with her family. One of her favorite theater memories involves improvising on stage for nearly ten minutes during a production of The Sound of Music when a fellow actor missed an entrance—and another recalls accidentally kicking her shoe into the audience during a performance of Babes in Toyland. Those experiences taught her an important lesson she still carries today: "Keep your head up, keep smiling, and everything else will work itself out."
