Wow what can I say - what a great day at Summerfest on July 4th with Krusher and Candy Cigarette rockin’ hard with awesome sets by both bands to big crowds that enthusiastically cheered them on and won them many new fans. I’m just amazed by the talent of these two young rock bands on their excellent sets at The Big Gig! I want to thank Summerfest for providing such a wonderful forum, stage and opportunity to these young so talented bands. So many folks make this only statewide program of its kind in the nation possible as we complete our 22nd season. Thanks much to Summerfest and its production crew and to Aurora Pavilion Stage Manager Dave Katzman, assistant Ryan, Slu and excellent sound provided by Shane and Jason. Mucho thanks to the Nicholas Family Foundation for their wonderful support for all 22 years of this unique music program as well as to Shure, Tilt Media, Madison Area Music Association, Blast House Studios, Courtier Foundation and all of the statewide media partners and sponsors that believe in providing an opportunity and stage to turn the spotlight on and encourage and promote Wisconsin’s young musicians and bands. And to my backstage crew I absolutely could not pull off this event without the remarkable support from my wife Jane, Jenny, Theresa, and my personal assistant Wesley. And a huge shoutout to my band application judges Cathy Dethmers, Rokker and Borna Velic and the finals judges MIke Popke, Stefan Truesdell and Harry Cherkinian as well as to my social marketing crew of ladies that did an excellent job in spreading the ROCKONSIN word - thanks so much Madeline Morello, Hannah Luree and Jane Lowy. Everyone’s wonderful support, professionalism, hard work and teamwork makes ROCKONSIN a joy to do each year. See you in 2027!🤘
