Work in Process Wednesday! Episode 11: Ava Della Pietra ‘27 🎤📝🎵

Singer-songwriter Ava Della Pietra is a senior in Mather House studying Human Biology, Behavior, and Evolution and Music through the Harvard-Berklee joint studies program. Ava’s singing career took off when performing on Broadway in School of Rock and other touring shows. She later grew her love for songwriting and performing, and released her first EP in 2021, truth or truth. Her new song “3am” was inspired by an overnight conversation with a friend and explores uncertainty, hopeful denial, and vulnerability. Her songwriting style combines narrative pop, theatrical performance, and her reflection on human experiences. Ava’s current work focuses on her senior thesis and directing Dear Evan Hansen on campus. Make sure to catch that show October 28 through November 1 in the Loeb Ex and keep an eye out for Ava’s new music!

Last week we kicked off our Fall ’26 Community Dance Courses, including Hip-Hop with new teaching artist Chad Shabazz! Courage Over Doubt Everyday💪🏽🦁

Registration and drop-ins are still open for all Community Dance courses. Explore Ballet, Conditioning, Contemporary, Feldenkrais, Hip-Hop, Kathak, Soca Fusion, Vogue, and West Africa, with options for dancers of all levels and abilities!

Join the Office for the Arts and American Repertory Theater for The Art of Becoming: A Conversation with American Repertory Theater artistic director Diane Paulus ’88 and actors Paul Giamatti and Tatiana Maslany from the current production of Rhinoceros. The focus of this discussion will be the art of becoming an actor and the art of becoming a character, and will also include questions from undergraduates including Jolana Kampfova ’28, Micah Anderson ’28, and Pablo López Garrido ’29. The event is part of this year’s ongoing series in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the OFA Learning from Performers program, Harvard’s premiere guest artist program. Free and open to all.
