As part of our mission to create more dance in Cambridge, we are thrilled to announce CO/MOTION, a summer intensive co-produced by Cantankerous Creatures and Hybridmotion. This summer we will be welcoming dancers and movement artists from around the world to take place in a 6 day training and creation intensive here in Massachusetts.

Each day will include Somatic Ballet classes with Adrian Hoffman, principles of Upside down technique taught by Jun Kuribayashi, Contemporary phrase work created by Mike Tyus and a new creation process with Jamila Glass! In addition all participants will leave with footage from Jamila's process filmed by Joy Brown.

Announcing CANT HOVER, a dance on film creative residency in partnership with Windhover Center for Performing Arts in Rockport, MA. Through a series of strenuous precautions, we will be gathering together 6 dance artists for 10 days on the Windhover campus while we explore how to translate movement onto film. All of the artist involved will work collaboratively both in front of and behind the camera with a focus on learning, experimentation and process over product. We’ll be sharing as we go and it all kicks off next Wednesday, August 19th! Follow along to see what we can’t create 😉
