Performance Alert! Malden Dance Mile event number 3 for TKD THIS weekend:

Movement and Music Perspectives Workshop with Juliana Utz

2:30pm Malden community path between Faulkner and Cross streets Malden, MA

We invite you to join, relax, and explore our outdoor improv jam with Saturday’s immersive perspectives workshop! Participants are encouraged to move throughout the space, change seats, and view the dance from different perspectives at any time. Objects will be provided to participants to look through to further customize their viewing experience. Dancers from Turning Key Dance will be supporting the movement along with Stephen Ambra, who will be accompanying on the cello.

Speaking of dance films.. Day 2 of the Malden Dance Mile, TKD will present a SECOND dance film Saturday evening at 8pm held in the plaza behind city hall in Malden! This larger work is near and dear to our hearts because it was such a collaborative effort stitched together during challenging times. Today’s Against the Odds project we’re thrilled to share with you is a collaboration between Turning Key Dance and NSquared Dance Company, who worked with filmmaker Sam Krueger and filmed at Subcircle. These folks really took the title of Against the Odds Quarantine Edition to heart in the creation of their story:

Like Nobody’s Watching - A Quartet’s Quarantine, a dance film by Turning Key and NSquared Dance. The film follows four artists quarantined together in a time where the world appeared upside down. Love, loss, and loneliness shape the quartet into the community they all need. A look on how chasing your dreams can help heal.
