From the thriving New York City, we are excited to have designer Jane Priester presenting at Subcouture. Since an early age she has been surrounded by museums and art- specifically, the movement that takes place with fashion & art when its influences stem from a hub of urban lifestyle. Her clothing is meant to be experienced through all senses- similar to the way the City is thrown at you.

The theme for this collection and exhibit is “ephemeral.” “This collection aims to make a statement that the temporary element of the fashion industry is not always shallow; instead, temporary preserves/captures MOVEMENT. Fashion draws not to the final product, but to PROCESS.” - Jane Priester

Make sure to get your tickets for Jane’s exhibit this upcoming Saturday, May 22nd. It will be on from 3 PM- 6PM. We can’t wait to see you all!

Vival Garco, started by a partnership of two Venezuelan students back in 2019, has grown into a vibrant streetwear brand with customizable art. Victoria Garcia, the designer behind the pieces that Vival has offered, has created a remarkable collection of hand painted streetwear- an intersection of those who are lovers of art, but fans of comfort and style.

In their upcoming collection, “Thrift Flipping Art,” Vival Garco will be thrifting clothes and repurposing them into art pieces and a clothing line. This collection will debut during Subcouture, and their pieces will be available for sale.

“Vival Garco is a community of creators, artists, streetwear lovers, designers and thinkers. A brand for those who do not fear innovation, and seek the unique creation of mending evolution through art.”

Come experience the vastness of the artist universe at Subcouture. Vival Garco’s exhibit will be May 21st from 3 PM-6PM.

Boston-based Palestinian artist Layal Srouji, featuring her brand Layal by Layal!

Come see this incredible artist bring to life her custom made textiles and pieces. Srouji has been exploring the reanimation of static objects through different mediums of art. The bold designer launched Layal by Layal back in 2018 as an effort to combat the growing issues of fast-fashion. Through reviving old clothing Layal grew an idea into a full-fledged brand.

The exclusive collection she’ll be featuring will include tones of nature, land, and resilience. Through symbolisms of goats signifying resilience, or land as a unifying motif- Layal will contextualize the spirituality of nature inside Subcentral’s doors.

Get tickets for Layal by Layal’s exhibit through the link on our bio. You won’t want to miss our event’s kick-off artist!

“The Human Condition” will be exhibited at Subcentral on May 7th at 4PM. Masha Keryan's art, all created here at Subcentral, attest to how challenges can lead to beautiful outcomes. Like the mural she created for us back in January, these works are best appreciated in-person, as to fully take in their size and multi-dimensionality. You won’t want to miss Subcentral’s first art exhibit!

Make sure to RSVP through the link in our bio as space is limited. We hope to see you all there!

Subcentral is presenting our very first art exhibit "The Human Condition'' featuring works by Masha Keryan on Friday, May 7th. The Boston based artist has been working here within our walls on creating a site-specific body of work within 20 days, up till the opening night. Keryan's work on display, composed of paintings and murals was inspired by the culture that Subcentral brings to the city of Boston. For more of Masha's work visit mashakeryan.com.

Due to Covid guidelines, space is limited, so make sure to RSVP- link in bio.
