Let me re-introduce myself ✨
I’m Kodi René, a creative and lover of collecting moments from every angle.

I’ve spent the last few years soaking in life on the road while looking inward and creating with new mediums. Wandering winding streets, getting lost in old bookstores and stationery shops, tasting my way through local ice cream parlors and markets, and collecting little specimens along mountain trails while finding ceramic studios nestled away. These small discoveries and quiet adventures quietly shape the way I see the world and how I translate it into my first true passion; photography.

Lately, the Central Coast has been reshaping my heart and allowing me to fall in love with the green of rolling hills, the blue where water meets sky, the fog that blankets the town at night and textures that feel alive under natural light. Each of my images are an exploration on being present and the understated poetry of everyday life.

For those who love photography that breathe color, that linger in light and shadows, that create a sense of wander, then you’re in the right place!

A grandparent’s love carries such tenderness time shared, stories passed down, and a quiet strength that moves through generations, shaping who we become.

What an honor it was to photograph these two women who so clearly anchor and uplift each other. Capturing moments of their everyday rituals together, painting nails, having their morning coffee, and passing down cherished jewelry pieces are those small ordinary moments that become lifelong memories. Wha a gift to be able to preserve a small part of this bond.

Found this cute lil video in my drafts from last year. The intention was to take clips of the entire roll shot on my travels through California to Colorado…

But half way into it, I stopped on highway 89 to snap a photo of a road sign with my dslr, phone, and my new Pentax 17. As I hurried to get back to my car, I took a quick.

While on the road, I couldn’t seem to find my Pentax for the unplanned pit stops so I pulled my canon back out to continue. It wasn’t until 3 hours later would I remember I left the Pentax on that remote road on highway 89. And@it wasn’t until weeks later I would realize this section of highway is closed for almost 8 months out of the year because of snowfall.

I hope whoever found it is still telling their story of how they found this cute lil camera on their bike ride down a beautiful highway and that they are still finding beauty in every snap shot.

They describe it as being “a whisper of calm and peace” , “a billowy white imbued with serenity”, and that it “drifts between light and ethereal”

When I read that, I couldn’t help but picture these photos I did while at where these moments at the time let me pause, reflect and feel connected to the space in such a quiet and comforting way.
