About the project:
Cambria Rocks are for the sole purpose of spreading joy, kindness, and a sense of community through creativity and was inspired by the Santee Rocks Facebook Group. The goal is to paint rocks and then
hide them in various locations to bring joy to the finder. For longevity, rocks should be covered with a sealer. On the backs of your masterpieces, write in permanent
pen or paint, "Take picture and post on Facebook in Cambria Rocks page. If you find a painted rock that you can't bear to part with, please keep it, but replace it with one of your own creations. We encourage you to take rocks to other towns, states or countries to hide and share. This is a kindness project, and kindness has no boundaries! Keep all posts kind, and free of rants and drama, political opinions, foul language, or business advertising and all pictures family-friendly. Members who violate these standards will be deleted.
2. Do not hide rocks in schools for children to find.

5. Be sensitive to the environment, stay on all trails, and do not hunt in protected habitats. All rock groups have been asked by the rangers of State parks to not hide rocks in their park, so please respect their wishes. If you find a rock there, remove it and rehide elsewhere. For all other parks and trails, be sure to follow their rules as well as those of Cambria Rocks.
6. Do not hide rocks inside businesses, and understand that rocks hidden outside of businesses may be disposed of if they see them as a nuisance or hazard.
7. Don't hide in grass where lawn mowers roam or in other hazardous locations, and watch at all times for snakes and cars.
8. Unpainted rocks should not be collected from planters, private property, park/city landscaped areas, or natural areas where they are a necessity. Also, painted rocks on private property are not to be taken.
9. Above all, use common sense and respect and remember our mission. We want to spread happiness in our community, and in no way wish to be a nuisance, distraction, or hazard. As our group grows, our needs will change. Rules will be altered to reflect those needs. Please remember that these rocks reflect the opinions and attitudes of the individual artists, and not necessarily those of the administration. Administration cannot be held responsible for the actions of individual group members. This is meant to be fun for all ages and abilities, so get creative and get outside! Thank you for being such an important part of this community. Peace, love, and joy!
