We had a lot of rain this year so this is what our hills look like until summer turns them a golden brown.

Just driving in to Cambria greets you with the kinds of stunning sights the Central Coast is known for. ✨ Pull out onto this viewpoint on Highway 46, where, on a clear day, you can see Morro Rock. It’s a wonderful welcome to your coastal getaway.

Last week I entered a virtual Town Crying competition about what we've been doing during "Shelter at Home". I didn't win but I did like what I wrote:

Oyez, Oyez, Oyez

They told us we should stay at home so that is where you will find me

I thought about all the things I could finally put behind me.

All the things that I could have done if I’d only had the time.

Clear out the attic, clean the fridge, read a book, learn to cook or maybe learn to play the sitar

Organize the bookshelves, they won’t do it themselves, I’m afraid I didn’t get very far

For all the projects I put off in each and every room

Were all postponed again so I could visit friends on Zoom.

August 1st I helped the Cambria Library celebrate their 98th birthday! It was a wonderful party.

Not much has been happening for Town Crying here in Cambria lately. I am still ready to take on any commissions that come my way.

Yesterday’s Cry for Peace opened the ceremony honoring our veterans here in Cambria.

My next official cry will be given on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2018, at the Cambria Vet's Hall at 1:00 Pm commemorating the end of WWI one hundred years ago on that day. I will be wearing Jerry's uniform for the first time in public.

I now have his uniform and am looking forward to wearing it publicly at the next opportunity.

Tomorrow I will pick up Jerry's Town Crier coat and shirt from the tailor shop. I plan to wear them the next time I give a cry.
I'll post a picture when that happens.

I will still be working as the Official Town Crier of San Luis Obispo County, California. I am having some alterations made to Jerry's uniform and I plan to wear it in his honor.
