I know where we will be on Sunday at the block party!!!!
It’s kind of cool. We’re right in front of the alley to The Attic Gallery. I think that we’re supposed to be there. I’ve included a visual reference.

Come down and see the quilt in all its colorful glory. We will have 6+ potters showing wares and a collaborative clay creation that you can be part of. Sunday between 11-4.

Forgot to post the raku firing outcomes of Mon’s literal inferno out on our concrete pad. Here they are. Doing it way earlier in the day and then whipping it out in two firings helped a lot.

It’s done!!!!! The official unveiling will be at our booth on Sunday at the Block Party downtown. Come down and see it hung together and look for the tile you created at last years Pride.
We will have pottery for sale and a collaborative clay piece that you can help create. Not sure where we will be yet but look for the quilt.

After the event the pieces are be distributed to local businesses to hang through the year. My dream is to see the pieces brought together and hung yearly at Pride as a show of support. 4 of the squares have found their people/business to shine at.

I need to give a shout out to the team at Lutz. They roll with whatever questions I bring them like, “what’s the best adhesive to use on a plywood/tile friendship quilt”, and they have an excellent selection of duct tape. Thank you for your expertise.

Third Monday means Raku. However it’s going to be HOT.. Like waaaaaay too hot. So we’re changing the firing time from 3-7 to 10-1. Save yourselves and stay home and hydrated. You turned in a piece it will be fired. You show up, have a hat, sunscreen and water. And I don’t want to hear how hot it is.

It’s only taken me a year but I love to push things to the last minute. Last year at Pride I had people make empowering messages using the THINK acronym. Is it true, helpful,inspiring, necessary and/or kind. it took me a while to figure out how to display these. I know Melissa I told you it would happen.
Here’s the plan.
It’s based off a friendship quilt. I use to quilt a lot and I love the sense of community. There will 4-6 squares that can hang together or hang separately. I have a plan.So, it’s on. I hope to post the finished “quilt” in the next few days. Have to have these ready to hang on the 21st.
