In the heart of Chicago, the tale of the Notorious NineDJs began long before they were legends. It all started with DJ Ice Mike, Kapt Kirk, and J Boogie, all of whom grew up in Roseland. Their friendship was forged on the baseball fields, where they spent countless summer days playing Little League. As eight-year-olds, they laughed, competed, and dreamt of bigger things. Little did they know that their love for the game would later evolve into a passion for music.

Fast forward to high school at Luther High School South, where J Boogie met Tim Beats. They first bonded as teammates on the football field. Tim quickly established himself as the top DJ in the school, dazzling classmates with his skills on the iconic turntables. J Boogie was captivated by Tim's vinyl-spinning finesse, which inspired him to delve deeper into the world of music.

Meanwhile, J Boogie and Disco Dave crossed paths 25 years ago, bonding over their shared love of motorcycles. They spent weekends blazing the streets of Chicago. But eventually, their conversations shifted from bike engines to beats, and they found a shared passion for music that solidified their friendship.

In the same vibrant atmosphere of Sunday school class at Salem, DJ WENN entered the scene. Although he was a latecomer to DJing, he took to it like a fish to water, quickly finding his rhythm and becoming an integral part of their growing circle.

As J Boogie continued his journey, he met Double XX through their fraternity chapter. Their connection deepened when they both graduated from a DJ class at WeJam Academy, solidifying their bond as fraternity brothers and fellow DJs. This shared experience ignited a passion that would tie them together for Life.

Over 20 years ago, J Boogie met DJ Slab at a men’s ministry event, where J Boogie made the life-changing decision to give up all secular music. How ironic is that? At the time, Slab was already an established DJ, and their paths crossed once again through Disco Dave. Their shared love for music became the glue that held their friendship together.

The final piece of the puzzle fell into place at a house festival hosted by Disco Dave. It was there that J Boogie met J Dubb, a well-known Chicago DJ. From their first conversation, they felt an instant connection, both understanding the deep bond that music creates.

Together, these nine DJs formed the Notorious Nine DJs united by their shared experiences, brotherhood, and an unwavering love for music. Their journey from childhood friends to influential DJs is a testament to the power of connection, proving that their bond transcends the music itself. In the end, it was more than just the beats; it was about friendship, loyalty, and the rhythm of life that brought them all together.
