Historic art deco movie theater. Programming includes new film releases and well loved classics

This weekend we are playing the wildly entertaining zombie movie, Resident Evil (Rated R). It's a perfect scary movie for October.

While it's a genuine horror flick... featuring plenty of creepy zombies...it's also completely HILARIOUS. When you're not laughing hysterically you'll be jumping out of your seat!

The director, Zach Cregger, has become a bit of a darling with the modern horror genre. His last two films, Barbarian (2022) and Weapons (2025) were indie hits.

This new picture is by far his funniest. An adorable Austin Abrams stars as everyman Bryan, a doordash deliveryman / courier. While delivering a package to a remote hospital, Bryan unexpectedly finds himself in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.

The movie does a fantastic job of keeping it's audience completely entertained from start to finish (as long as you don't mind the jump-scares).

Playing all weekend on the following Schedule:

Friday Oct 16th at 7:30
Saturday Oct 17th at 2 and 7:30
Sunday Oct 18th at 2 and 7:30
Monday Oct 19th at 7:30 (Cheap nite)
Thursday Oct 22nd at 7:30pm

* And don't forget, we've got Stanley Kubrick's THE SHINING playing Tuesday Oct 20th at 7:30pm. It's the season to celebrate horror movies on the big screen.

Happy October and Happy Halloween! Thank you for supporting our mightly little cinema!

The most bonkers film of the year opens this Friday at Callicoon Theater!

Digger, rated R, stars Tom Cruise as a manic oil tycoon who attempts to save the world after his careless digging threatens the planet.

With John Goodman, Riz Ahmed, Jesse Plemons and Sandra Fuller, this Dr. Strangelove-esque mega-satire is a big swing from director Alejandro Innaritu (The Revenant, Babel, Birdman, Amores Perros).

Catch it this weekend at Callicoon Theater!

Catch this brilliant little gem of a picture! Opening this Friday!

Willem Dafoe stars as a New York poet who's work has gone mostly unrecognized. He's led a quiet life working a desk job at the post office. When his poems are "rediscovered" by a group of young eccentrics, his artistic drive begins to return.

The film is about grappling with the life one has led, opportunities which may have passed, and whether or not one can be courageous enough to become open to possibility later in life. A perfect film for a changing season.

Playing Friday through Thursday on the following schedule:

Friday at 7:30pm
Saturday at 2pm and 7:30pm
Sunday at 2pm and 7:30pm
Monday at 7:30pm (Cheap nite)
Thursday at 7:30pm

As always, thank you for supporting art house programming at Callicoon Theater! :)
