Callahan Christmas Parade still on for Sat Dec 5??
Hello, I have a few questions... I am looking to get my grandson into a hobby/sport and something he can let his competitiveness out. What do you recommend to do to start into this hobby for the little guy? Is it easier for the kids if an adult is doing it as well?
He is 7 years old and tall for his age, and has never driven a go cart before.
We are organizing a search party Friday, October 9, 2020, 9:00 am at 54285 Lawhon Rd. Anyone interested in helping please come. We will be going out to different areas looking for him. Bring boots it is wet out here. Times are flexible just come to the address when you can. The more people we have looking for him the more of a chance in seeing him. We need to see him to find him and bring him home!!!
Thank you to my race track family for your support tonight of the 50/50 tickets and helping my daughter Mariah that has been battling Epilepsy. We raised $500!!!! The winner was Faith Flynn and she donated her half to Mariah❤❤ Thank you all again for your love and support. Thank you Mrs. Lisa Burch Hicken and Mr. David Hicken for letting do this!! Yall are truly a blessing to us.

Well this is what I have. Good, Bad or indifferent. This is it. It's a spring loaded sprocket hub for 1 1/4" axles. It's functions similar to the clutch disc in most manual trans cars. When power or the pulling force is applied to the gear through the chain, it pull on the gear which is bolted on the hub so the kart moves forward. With this new hub, the pull of the chain, onto the gear is dampened a bit when it's first applied. There is that split second that the axle was not moved but the gear and hub were. More power and torque applied, more movement and the more energy is stored in the springs. As the kart starts to roll everything is sort of normal and acting like it has before w/o this new hub, The kart is moving forward just fine. But when you get a few feet out, further down the straightaway or down the dragstrip the torque of the engine begins to level out and although you are still accelerating your Rate of Acceleration has dropped off. The theory says That's where this hub works it's magic. OK, not magic and not a miracle. It's just good old Physics which won't ever let us down. The energy stored in the 4 springs works on the portion of the hub that holds the gear. For a short period of time that stored energy will rotate the sprocket faster than what could be done by the engine alone, Once you can visualize that happening everything about this gizmo begins to make sense. Just for the record, this didn't come out of my head. I wish it had, but no, not today. This torque hub is the brainchild of my friend David Hicken. David operates a kart track in Florida known at Callahan Speedway. David has been an engine builder for years and he's got a large following of customers. For the present, David has requested that I help him with the sale and distribution of the "Sling Shot". It will be my pleasure and I am honored. One last thought. Some of you will remember back when your Big Brother would put you in the Radio Flyer and would then give you that necessary shove right at the start of the downhill race with Butch Madison, the baddest guy in the neighborhood and he only had one tooth on top because somebody made fun of his tattoo on his arm that said," I love my mother." And his brother never lost a fight because he worked out a lot when he was in jail. So, you're lined up beside Butch and you are both going to see who coasts the fastest down this hill that leads to Dead Man's Curve. First one to the bottom wins. Well, you didn't have a "Sling Shot" but you did have Big Donnie, your third degree Black Belt brother and he gave you a huge shove when 'One eye Brown' waved the green flag. Well, the theory says that 'shove' is the same thing this hub gives you. Only thing is, It's easy to see the advantage of the shove in the wagon. But the AMOUNT of shove and the distance you benefit from it is unknown at the present. I can say, for absolute positive, it can not and will not slow you down. I just don't have a specific number, or amount of benefit that I can swear to. One more absolute: If I was drag racing a mini bike this would be the first thing I'd put on it. If you have a mechanical mind, picture it and think about the performance gain while also considering the savings you'll see in buying chain, etc because those parts will just almost last forever. Taking questions now. mc - - - - - - Since I wrote this I have received very nice testimonials from racers around the country

Great night at Callahan speedway last night. Track was awesome, staff was on point, and things ran smooth. Couldn't have been any better. Thank you to everyone for all the hard work you put in.
