Starting this year, we are taking applications for a Jr. Fair Board Committee. This is a new scholarship opportunity for Houston County students, between grades 6th-12th, who are interested in helping plan and coordinate fair activities, develop leadership skills, and volunteer for our community.

Demolition of the former cattle barn took place this week on the fairgrounds. This marks an exciting step in Phase 2 of the project, with the new building set to be completed ahead of the 2026 Fair. We look forward to watching and sharing the progress as construction continues.

After reviewing feedback from the 2025 fair, we saw that the midway and carnival were popular themes among attendees. As we begin planning for the 2026 Houston County Fair (August 19–23), the Fair Board is considering whether to look into the possibility of bringing a carnival to the fair.
Before we take any steps, we want to hear from YOU — our community. Your input will help us decide whether to explore options for a carnival in 2026.
