The FBI has warned a US court that releasing some records relating to President Tinubu could endanger lives, filing an application on August 20 to submit its explanation privately and under seal.

The agency said it cannot publicly explain why it withheld the records; doing so could expose sensitive law-enforcement techniques and procedures.

The records are being sought by Aaron Greenspan of PlainSite, who filed Freedom of Information Act requests for Tinubu documents from 1992 and 1993, including his entire FBI file.

The FBI said it would submit the confidential declaration before August 28 if the court grants its request.

A Brazilian mother went to the police station to file a complaint against her son, who had been physically abusing her repeatedly. When officers asked for his location, they went to him and, upon arrival, struck him in the face. They then gave him a stern reprimand and warned him not to ever lay a hand on his mother again.

Cletus Madubugwu Ibeto's story is a powerful reminder that where you start in life does not have to determine where you end up.

Born in Newi, Anambra State, in 1952, Ibeto started his business journey as an apprentice in Onitsha, where he learned the motor spare-parts business.

He started small, learning how to buy, sell, negotiate and understand how business works. But he had bigger dreams. He didn't just want to trade - he wanted to build.

He eventually moved into manufacturing, producing automotive batteries and plastic components. From there, he expanded into other industries, including petrochemicals, cement, real estate and hospitality.

His company, the Ibeto Group, eventually grew into a major Nigerian business empire.

But his journey was not without challenges. Ibeto faced difficult periods, including business setbacks, regulatory disputes and legal battles involving some of his investments. Despite these challenges, he kept moving forward.

Another inspiring part of his journey was his return to education. Although his education was interrupted when he was younger, he continued learning and eventually earned a B.Sc. in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 2006.

He started as an apprentice.

The apprentice became a trader.

The trader became a manufacturer.

The manufacturer became an industrialist.

His story is not just about becoming successful or making money. It is about resilience, determination, starting small, thinking big and refusing to allow setbacks to define your future.

Most importantly, his journey reminds us that where you start in life does not have to be where you finish.

Sometimes, what looks like a setback today could be preparing you for the chapter that changes everything.

He allegedly laundered millions back into the US to fund his luxury lifestyle - while reporting tiny income and claiming low-income tax credits. Feds are moving to seize the mansion as proceeds of crime. Up to 20 years in prison if convicted. This is exactly why sanctions and enforcement matter. National security isn't optional."

President Tinubu has now signed the Electoral Act 2026, and it removes certificate forgery as a ground for challenging election results at tribunals.

Under the new legislation system, declared election victories are isolated from judicial challenges.

By reclassifying qualification disputes as strictly PRE-ELECTION matters, the legal system restricts scrutiny to a narrow window before voting occurs.

Once candidate nominations close and election results are declared, allegations of altered result or falsified documents can no longer be raised to invalidate an election won at the tribunal.
