Frog Joy Farm is excited to welcome back one of your all-time favorites – Cosmic Cowboy BOB LIVINGSTON!
It’s impossible to talk about the roots of today’s Texas music without speaking of Cosmic Cowboy himself – Bob Livingston. Founder of the Lost Gonzo Band, Bob was (and is) and integral part of the Texas music scene. Having toured and recorded with artists such as Michael Murphey, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Ray Wylie Hubbard to drop just a few names, Bob is a wealth of knowledge of behind the scenes coming and goings on many of your favorite artists and albums (anyone remember Viva Terlingua?). Lucky for us and for history, Bob decided to take the time write it all out in his fabulous new book, Gypsy Alibi.
Joining Bob will be his son, Tucker Livingston, a great musician himself. What many of you might not know is that Bob, along with Tucker, participated in U.S. State Department sponsored cultural outreach tours to over 30 countries in the Middle East, Africa, India and more! Tales of their travels are woven throughout Bob’s book and provide insight into a whole other side of Bob’s musical biography.
Copies of Bob’s book will be for sale (if you haven’t already run out and grabbed your copy) and Bob will be happy to autograph them.
So, mark your calendar and invite a friend (or ten) to head out to the farm for what is sure to be an incredible night of music and tales. Who knows – you’ll most likely leave knowing why Bob is cosmic; why Ray Hubbard is Wylie; what exactly is a red neck mother and where was that English girl Gary P Nunn was supposed to meet on the 3rd floor!
