A sketch of the sun setting through winter trees. I didn't make it very far on this trip. I got started late and then couldn't find the road I was looking for. I had barely gotten underway before it was time to turn back. But I did get three sketches out of it, two of them of the setting sun.

This is just outside Arnold near Big Trees. I was pressed for time so I just parked along the road and went down the slope about fifty feet to sketch.

Heavily Pruned Tree among Roses

The sketch was done in the evening in Murphys, CA. It was dusk but I remembered a tree I had seen the day before situated conveniently near a lamppost. The scene had to be compacted a good bit to get everything in.

This is available as an aluminum print a large 11 x 14 inch size and a smaller 8 x 10 inch size. Each print is signed and bears a unique serial number.

Thanks to everyone who attended my recent show and thanks to those who made it possible. It was pretty quick notice but it went off well. The best part was all the kids who attended. Toward the end of the evening, we gave them paper and markers and let them create works of their own. It was a lot of fun.
