Moe Montoya
Founder / Manager Production Talent

As a Los Angeles native, my first exposure to the film industry didn’t come until a few years after graduating from Pepperdine University. In fact, my degree was in Sports Medicine and I had a great job doing legal research for a law firm specializing in Asbestos litigation. All that changed when a friend asked me to help out as a PA on a television commercial. A few years of production work eventually led to a job as a below-the-line agent assistant. After about 5 years of learning the business of representation at both a large agency and a boutique agency I decided it was time to carve my own path. In the fall of 2003 I opened my own below the line firm. My goal was simple --- work smart, be efficient, and enjoy what I do…success. Hilarie Roope
Partner / Manager Production Talent

Hilarie's love for the Cinema began the moment she stepped on her first film set at the tender age of sixteen. Growing up as a backstage theater brat in Manhattan Beach, CA where her Father directed many stage productions, combined with her love for shooting still photography naturally led her to study filmmaking at the University of California in Los Angeles. Well, as they say, the rest is history…

From her early experiences in the editing room as an assistant editor (to find out more you're going to have to google her) to her Executive days as Vice President of Sovereign Pictures and Savory Pictures, Hilarie has been involved in all phases of the industry, from development through distribution. After the doors closed at Savoy, she freelanced as a Post Supervisior on numerous productions including Bryan Singer's "Apt Pupil", Adrian Lyne's "Lo**ta" as well as Associate Producing several films for Tony and Ridley Scott's production company Scott Free, which included David Dobkin's directorial debut "Clay Pigeons". The most exciting production that occurred for Hilarie during this time was the birth of her son Davis who is her inspiration on a daily basis. In early 1999, Hilarie was given the opportunity to become an agent at the once heralded Broder, Webb, Chervin, Silbermann Agency (formerly known as the Broder, Kurland, Webb, Uffner Agency)…whew that was a mouthful! When the planets collided several years later… Mergers-acquisitions (a period we like to call the "dark times") Hilarie saw her moment to move in a different direction. She wanted to create a more personal and specialized atmosphere for her clients. Her belief after being part of such a large company was that clients were not getting the attention they needed and well deserved. Just in the way that writers and directors need to employ managers to give them the attention that agents cannot afford due to having too many clients, she observed that the production talent was feeling left behind as well. Certainly it does not make sense that these talented individuals employ an entourage to support their career paths. As fate would have it, Hilarie reconnected with her former associate, Moe Montoya, who had formed his own talent agency in 2004 called Below The Line Artists . Their shared philosophy about the business led them to forming a partnership in the Fall of 2006.

✨ Emmy Watch! ✨

A huge shoutout to film editor Keenan Hiett for his standout work on the Netflix series Nobody Wants This. His episode, “Bat Mitzvah Crashers,” is a masterclass in comedic timing, emotional nuance, and razor-sharp storytelling.

Keenan’s ability to balance absurdity with authenticity in this episode is nothing short of award-worthy—and the buzz is growing. As Emmy season heats up, we’re proud to celebrate Keenan’s incredible contribution to a series that pushes the boundaries of tone and structure.

Let’s get him the recognition he deserves. 🖇️🎬
