I pieced this quilt myself and completed the quilting on Michelle Bruce Lear's longarm using computerized patterns.
The star featured in this quilt is the LeMoyne Star, an eight-pointed quilt block named after the French-Canadian brothers Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville and Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville, founders of New Orleans in 1718. Some historians also believe the design may have been inspired by the LeMoyne family coat of arms.
One of the things I love most about quilting is that every block carries a story, connecting us to generations of quilters and history.
Computer quilting:
Main block is Helen Squire, France
Sashing is ribbon candy, PS design.
Small corner stones is continuous curve square , PS design
Large boarders are Anita Shakelford, Diamond Cable Sash
A big thank you to Michelle Lear, I couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you!
