Dreamy Americana with an indie pop influence hailing from Toledo and the Great Lakes. The Antivillains is the work of songwriter Sarah Cohen. Born in the Rust-Belt city of Toledo Ohio, her songs are populated by quiet dramas that have come and gone and pictures of messy lives somewhere in the middle. The music can be cloudy and dreamy, drawing comparisons to the music of Yo La Tengo or Cat Power with glimmers of the honest and tragic storytelling of Townes Van Zandt or Gillian Welch. As a band, they have performed alongside such groups as Lucius, Allison Russell, Birds of Chicago, The Go Rounds, Chris Bathgate, Breathe Owl Breathe and countless others throughout the United States. Reunion, the band’s next full length album is set to be released in the fall of 2022.

What a wonderful finale last night to end the Cadillac Michigan Freedom Festival!!!

In less than 2 weeks we are so excited to see all of our Cadillac Arts Council groups come together to showcase our talents to the community.

Our festival is also a very important fundraiser for our local groups and this year we need your help more than ever to keep the arts alive here in Cadillac!

For now, we’re looking for volunteers. Wexford County 4-H needs volunteers to help with color at the FART run. Up North Arts, Inc. needs volunteers for the Phyllis Olson Juried Art Fair Cadillac Michigan and the Cadillac Festival of the Arts need volunteers to help our events run smoothly.

Don’t forget we have a double headliner this year with The Go Rounds and Heavy Color Friday night with our very own Cadillac Area Symphony Orchestra kicking off the performances.

Note about the poster. This was created by Hello Mr.Taylor using the graphics created by our very own Mac trail middle school students to accent the logo created by Charmellow design for the festival of the arts. You’ll be seeing Matt around town during the festival and we are so honored to have him as our special guest.
