Independent musical ensemble from the Midwest. The Antivillains is the work of songwriter Sarah Cohen. Born in the Rust-Belt city of Toledo Ohio, her songs are populated by quiet dramas that have come and gone and pictures of messy lives somewhere in the middle. The music can be cloudy and dreamy, drawing comparisons to the music of Yo La Tengo or Cat Power with glimmers of the honest and tragic s

torytelling of Townes Van Zandt or Gillian Welch. As a band, they have performed alongside such groups as Lucius, Allison Russell, Birds of Chicago, The Go Rounds, Chris Bathgate, Breathe Owl Breathe and countless others throughout the United States. Reunion, the band’s next full length album is set to be released in the fall of 2022.

✨ Something magical is coming to Downtown Cadillac...

Imagine: The warm glow of hundreds of candles, the charm of the newly refurbished Market at Cadillac Commons, and a backdrop of stunning art.

We are thrilled to host a very special candlelight concert featuring The Antivillains! Hailing from Toledo, OH, these "darlings of the rust belt" are celebrating 20 years of music with a performance that feels like a "hauntingly beautiful backdrop to a watercolor world."

Opening the night is the incredibly talented Nick Veine, a composer and teacher from the Traverse City area.

This isn't just a concert; it’s an evening of art, community, and soul-stirring sound. You won't want to miss the transformation of the Market building.

Downtown Cadillac is excited to partner with Jam and Bread and Gopherwood Concerts to bring you this special experience.

Made possible by a grant from The (Toledo) Arts Commission.
AV had an excellent experience bringing these three new songs and stellar cast of musicians and friends to the Dogtown Studio space in downtown Grand Rapids Michigan in late May of 25'. Track list: Out of Her Mind, Crack Up, Floods by The Antivillains.
