The countdown is ON, and we’re getting fired up for the 4th Annual Byron BBQ Fest! 🎉

We’re excited to introduce this year’s amazing cook teams who will be bringing the smoke, the flavor, and the competition to North Peach Park on September 18th & 19th!

Send this to someone who knows how to cook BBQ! 😎

We still need cook teams to sign up to compete at the Byron BBQ Fest being held September 18th & 19th, 2026. Anyone can join, and there is NO Georgia BBQ Association membership required to compete.

Never competed before? This is the perfect place to try your hand at competing. According to past cook teams, we are "laid back, but still a good competition." Also, the Byron BBQ Fest is a "great time to try out new things".

Entry is $200 for chicken, pulled pork, and ribs. You will also cook a butt provided by us for the people's choice competition. Go all in and add the Brunswick stew category for $50. We now accept card payments! Just be wary of scams (we do not send invoices or online payment links). You have to call the Byron Welcome Center for over the phone payments.

Payouts:
🥇1st: $1000 | 🥈2nd: $700 |🥉3rd: $500 for each meat category
🏅People's Choice Winner: $100
🏅Brunswick stew: 50% of all entries

Somebody Has to Wake Up Competition Day 🎸🔥

Come early, grab some BBQ, check out the cook teams, and start your Saturday with Thomas Guest!

Local artist Thomas Guest is bringing his own blend of country, Southern rock, gospel, and a little bit of everything that makes Middle Georgia music special to the Byron BBQ Fest stage.

Thomas got his start singing at his high school's chapel service and developed his love of country music with his papa listening to country legends like Alan Jackson and George Strait. Now, he’s building a sound of his own with original songs like Find You, Making Changes in Macon and Mystery Girl. 🎶

You asked, and we answered😋

Taste Plate Tickets for the 2026 Byron BBQ Fest go on pre-sale Monday, August 24th! This is part of a BLIND people's choice competition, so you get to vote for your favorite BBQ.

Plate includes:
☑️ At least 1 lb of fresh pulled pork (~2 oz each team, at least 8 teams)
☑️ 2 slices of white bread
☑️ 1 vote for your favorite BBQ

How it works:
1⃣ Take your ticket to the Taste Plate Table located near Pavilion #3 to the left of the big playground between 12:30pm and 2:30pm
2⃣ Eat yummy BBQ and decide who is the best
3⃣ Vote for your favorite sample at the Tour Byron tent located near Pavilion #3 by Saturday at 3:30pm
4⃣ See who wins on Saturday, September 19th, approximately 4pm at the stage

🎟 A limited number of tickets are available for pre-sale at the Byron Welcome Center and the Historic Train Depot Museum. Tickets will also be sold at the Tour Byron tent during the festival, while supplies last, until Saturday, Sept. 19th at 2pm.

💲Plates cost $30, and profits go to the Battle of Byron! We now take cash and card. No online payments.

Welcome Josh Courson to the stage this September, as part of the soundtrack for a weekend full of BBQ, family fun, and plenty of reasons to stick around Byron.

🎸Josh Courson is bringing music that will have you tapping your foot before your plate is even empty. A Middle Georgia native from Macon, GA, Josh is an electrifying country artist who performs like a rock star. His rocking country style brings plenty of energy to every crowd, and he’s already made his mark with hits like “Here for the Beer,” which spent 4 weeks at #1 on Atlanta’s 96.5 The Bull Backyard Country.
