We are having a SALE!
After acquiring everything from another frame shop that closed due to retirement, we have an overload of odd frames, precut mats, and more!
Large paper roll holders, a round oak table, odds and ends.
Happening all week! And next week! Help us make room for new as we work to expand our custom framing offerings.
All items are as is. Make a bundlr, make a fair offer. A little more will come out every day as things clear out and as other things get unpacked.

Exciting Announcement!
Last month the son of the owners of Butte Frame Shop, a wonderful place that had been operating in Butte for decades, came in and said that his parents were retiring after many many years of running their shop, and asked if I would be interested in buying the business. After talking it out with my partner , looking over what we would be acquiring, we decided it was an opportunity that we needed to, nay, wanted to, greet with open arms. We came to a deal that benefited both parties and I am happy to say a little bit of the history and spirit of The Butte Frame Shop will live on. The current location of Square Peg Custom Framing was once the location of Butte Frame Shop back when they also did photography, before it was Books and Books. I feel honored to carry on this spirit and am ever so grateful to the Butte Frame Shop family.
One of the best items in the acquisition is a Wizard CMC (Computerized Mat Cutter). This tool opens up a world of possibilities fo what I can offer in custom framing and to say I am over the moon is putting it mildly.
I worked with a Wizard CMC for ten years before moving here, but the purchase of one just hadn't been a possibility. Until now!
On December 1, we shook hands on the deal and I've been busy packing up their shop before work, after work, making hauls on the weekends.

Shop will be closed August 19-September 2
We small business owners do need to get away every once in a while.
I'll still periodically check my email, so please direct any burning queries that way. Otherwise, I'm trying to stay as hands off of work as possible so I can focus on time with my beautiful family before the hustle and bustle of fall sweeps us up.

I started laying out frames as soon as I got this out of the box. Sometimes there is art that calls for that something extra special. has the perfect electric pink and the chain motif moulding stacked inside was the deciding factor. Big or small. This little vintage sailboat pin is a great example of framing the unexpected. Grandma's favorite brooch? Granddad's best bolo tie? Framing offers a way to conserve and put those sentimental pieces on display. It can even be a whole showcase of special pieces, like a collection of antique hat pins or eyeglasses.

This features a double stack frame, fabric wrapped mat in a circle opening. Frames we picked for depth and because their design evokes the waves of water-perfect for a little sailboat. It is available for sale.

Exciting news part 1:
Unfortunately, I have been quite ill the past several months. I was diagnosed with extreme iron deficiency anemia, just shy of needing a transfusion and need major abdominal surgery to get it taken care of. Better to address the root of the problem than try to treat the symptoms, which will only get worse if I don't have surgery.
This means the shop will be closed April 19 through April 26, at the very least. I'm hoping to be back in as soon I feel up to it, but will have some weight and mobility restrictions for a while. Luckily, can help out with the heavy lifting, finish work, and keep me accountable to doctor's orders.
Surgery is never convenient, but very necessary in this case. I'm already running behind on work orders, which I very much dislike. I so appreciate your patience and understanding in the coming weeks.
