Sarge Update đž
Sarge is going to need some time to heal. Last night was a rough one for him, but weâre happy to share that he did eat a little this morning. This was a very big surgery, and we know recovery will take time. What we do know is that Sarge is strong, and weâre hoping he continues taking these little baby steps forward each day.
We thought about posting a picture of the tumor that was removed, but we realized it might be a bit too much for some people. It truly is fascinating though what came out of him and how he managed to live with something like that inside his body!! Dogs are incredibly good at hiding illness until they simply canât anymore.
This is also a reminder of how important routine vet care is, especially for senior dogs. We only discovered this tumor because of a routine wellness check that we provide to our very senior Rescue Haven dogs.
We are deeply committed to our veterinary partners. The reality is vet care is expensive, this surgery ended up over $4,500 but we know we are getting top quality care, and that matters for us and the dogs! Not every GP veterinarian could perform a surgery like this. We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Stock and the amazing teams at and Montclair Animal Hospitals for giving Sarge a fighting chance.
And to everyone who has donated, thank you, thank you, thank youâŁď¸ Your support is truly helping us work toward covering this very large bill. We are so grateful.
Of course, weâre not there yet, so weâre going to ask again for help. Today is $5 Friday, and every little bit adds up. Itâs less than a Starbucks⌠honestly, probably even less than Dunkinâ these days âď¸
Please keep Sarge in your thoughts as he continues his recovery. â¤ď¸
