Bella Morte

Hope you’re all having a great day.

Bella Morte or beautiful death is the closing meditation of the collection “What Do I Do If I Don’t Feel Like Getting Well Again?”

An eruption of beauty born from resistance rather than resolution. Expansive bursts of pale blue radiate like fragile constellations, their breath driven geometry cutting through a dense storm of crimson, ochre, ivory, and rust. The surface feels both celestial and wounded: starbursts bloom like moments of clarity while thick, turbulent clusters of color suggest memory, grief, and stubborn survival colliding in real time.

Each explosive form appears suspended between collapse and transcendence, as if the canvas itself is deciding whether healing is necessary or even desirable. The work does not promise recovery. Instead, it honors the raw, defiant honesty of simply remaining present inside the chaos.

I MISS MY DEAD FRIENDS

F**k it.

This 10-foot mahogany kitchen table is the most difficult object I have ever made. Built and painted over the dead quiet of last winter, it became less a piece of furniture and more a place to put grief. Every inch was labored over, layered slowly in a palette pulled from Victorian and Baroque interiors; deep blues, bruised golds, smoke, and decay colors that feel like memory fading and returning at the same time.

The surface blooms with violent bursts and quiet constellations, each mark made through breath, pressure, and obsession. It’s not polished nostalgia; it’s the honest chaos of remembering people who are gone.

A week after I finished it, Stanley died.

Since then the table has stopped feeling like an artwork and started feeling like a witness. To loss. To nights spent alone working until morning. To the strange way grief can make something beautiful.

I MISS MY DEAD FRIENDS is the most vulnerable work I’ve ever made, and the most honest. It carries my deepest pain, preserved in wood, paint, and time.

It is not for sale.

Happy Saturday everyone.

“Bellissimo Negozione,” the fifth in Big Blind’s six-part series “What Do I Do If I Don’t Feel Like Getting Well Again?,” captures the seduction of self-deception. Swirls of sapphire, burgundy, and gold bloom like fractured stained glass with each shard a reflection of denials abuse, while also evoking the fragile elegance of denial, where light pierces through illusion just enough to reveal the truth beneath. Both haunting and radiant, it portrays the quiet allure of staying broken, the bittersweet poetry of refusing to heal, and the artful stillness of surrender disguised as grace.

“Bellissimo Processo.” 4/6 of this series. Cheers.

This 36x48x1 painting by Big Blind, the fourth in the series “What Do I Do If I Don’t Feel Like Getting Well Again,” explores the disorienting calm that follows violence. Using an Art Deco, Baroque, and Victorian-inspired palette, the piece erupts in fractured bursts of cerulean, crimson, and gold, like emotion cracking through a glass surface. It captures the uneasy beauty of recovery: when depression stirs but the escape no longer thrills. The painting wrestles with the question of what comes after despair, portraying a soul on the edge of rediscovery, suspended between relapse and rebirth.

This square table, discovered at the dump, has been beautifully transformed into a work of art with a Victorian and Baroque-inspired color palette. The tabletop is adorned with a stunning blend of rich, opulent hues, deep blues, soft golds, and earthy browns evoking the grandeur of antique European decor. The swirling patterns on the surface resemble intricate florals and ornate textures, reminiscent of vintage painting techniques. The table’s base, a simple wooden design, complements the dramatic, elegant artistry above. The addition of a crystal lamp enhances the vintage feel, giving this piece an unexpected second life as a striking, reclaimed treasure.

This Art Deco series titled “What Do I Do If I Don’t Feel Like Getting High Again.” This piece “Bellissima Musa” is the third of six in the collection. I’m eating a lot less animal crackers but listening to a lot more Bad Bunny thanks Rhiannon.

Stanley had a good arthritis day today. I hope you also had a good day.

“To Be Robbed of Sight & Sword.”

This is a 1896 Wellington piano. Painted with my favorite palette and appraised at 106,000.00 it is the most expensive piece we’ve made.

I make this art not for money or clout or likes.

The only woman I’ve ever loved is the reason I make any of these pieces.

I don’t fear. I only hope you find someone who made me feel like you have.

Thank for everything.

Stanley’s had two good arthritis days in a row all hail the king. We’ll be releasing “To Be Robbed of Sight & Sword” before the last piece from “The Nightmare I Deserve.” So excited for everyone to see it.

This Art Deco palette contrasts so well I’m having a blast making these works.

Happy Wednesday.

“The Nightmare I Deserve” second release. A honey oak Alaskan king headboard done with a Rococo inspired palette. I love how these colors mix together as well as complement the pieces from the collection. Also this thing is hilariously large. This piece is available on our Shopify store.

Happy Monday everyone.
