This year, I’ve teamed up with the phenomenal Lawson’s Finest Liquids to present the fest with a fresh take and a shared vision: COMMUNITY. Our goal is to show festival-goers that there’s more to our brave little state than great skiing and instagram-worthy scenery. We’ve put together a stunning array of both National and local talent, as well as teaming up with The Skinny Pancake, Yestermorrow, The Flynn , and ECHO Museum (to name a few) to bring you MORE delicious local food, MORE talent, MORE innovation, and MORE of the magic that’s hiding in plain sight here in Vermont. Meet the local artists playing Grand Point North on Friday, Sept 12. A great mix of hometown talent and longtime favorites—come early and check them out.

Maryse Smith is a songwriter who spent many years in Vermont and now resides on Marthas Vineyard. She writes songs about her sensitive heart in hopes of connecting to your sensitive heart. Her fifth album, Transience, was released in May.

The Wet Ones! are a Vermont-based power trio performing original surf music at blistering volumes and speed. Comprised of lifelong acolytes of the traditional surf sound and longtime regulars of the Burlington music scene, the group formed in 2018 and recorded their first reverb-doused record, Tombstoning, in 2019. Their latest record, The Monster of Jungle Island, provides the thunderous soundtrack to a short B-horror movie of the same title.

Burly Girlies is a feminist punk band from VT. They write songs based on their experiences as q***r small town weirdos taking up space in the 21st century patriarchy. Reclaiming notoriously misogynistic pop culture pillars from pl***oy bunnies to horror movie slasher tropes, Burly Girlies are a silly good time that will leave you feeling enticed and pi**ed off.

Grace Palmer is a musician currently based out of Burlington, VT. At a young age, she started performing in a christian rock band with her father and two sisters. At 18, Grace moved to Nashville, TN to live and work as an independent musician. When the pandemic struck, she was able to move to Burlington and continue her work as a musician. .palmer.music

At long last, I’m delighted to announce that Grand Point North is returning to the beautiful Burlington Waterfront Park this summer as a 4 day event! I will be headlining on Saturday and Sunday with my kick ass band. Grand Point North has always given me the opportunity to shine a light on the amazing music, art, food and culture that’s come to define our brave little state. I’ll be continuing that tradition this year with support acts from Vermont as well as a few luminaries I’ve befriended across the country.

This year is a bit different than we have done it in the past. There will be separate ticketed shows on Thursday and Friday in addition to my weekend shows. On Friday night, my good friends will be performing their Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots album in full along with their masterful collection of songs they’ve wrapped into one incredible show. I’m stoked about Thursday night’s this far TBA “mystery headliner”. Stay tuned!

Grand Point North has always been my favorite weekend of the year - it goes without saying that the years we’ve been unable to to throw my festival were a big old bummer - (especially now that I’m back in my hometown of the Mad River Valley). The world has changed and live music took a bit hit - but the Grand Point flame has been burning in my heart all along and I can’t tell you how proud I am to FINALLY be bringing it all back home.
