Support theatre in our area! The Footlighters, Inc. is located in Northern Kentucky (Newport) and puts on spectacular productions! While UCT may not be producing shows any longer, there is certainly a wonderful arts organization to visit!

Our thoughts are with all the friends and family members of our good friend, and longtime member, Russ Derek McGee. Russ was in several of our productions over the years and received an Orchid Award for his performance in our production of It’s a Wonderful Life as Clarence. He was a great performer, but an even greater friend to many.

From OCTA STATE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 OCTA Regionals, OCTA, Jr. and the OCTA State Conference 2020.
The COVID-19 situation posed new challenges, both in terms of safety and logistics, to our regionals, OCTA, Jr and OCTA State Conference and the decision to cancel was made after great deliberation by the OCTA State Board and Regional Reps. Our ability to guarantee a healthy environment for our participants throughout the experience was of primary importance in this decision. Even though the actual events are months away and the landscape is still very uncertain, the safety issues of rehearsal spaces, live performances, audience social distancing, hotel and buffet meals indicate cancellation as the wisest course for this year.
Participation in any OCTA event is an experience that cannot be replaced, and we are saddened that we cannot provide that opportunity for our participants and member theatres this year. Plans are already being made for the OCTA 2020-2021 Season.
On behalf of the entire OCTA State Board and our Regional Representatives, thank you for your continued interest and support of OCTA and our programs. We depend on your membership and participation to make OCTA a viable organization for community theatre participants across the state of Ohio to not only have educational opportunities but also to receive recognition for their efforts on and off the stage.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact President Joe Barton.
Break-a-leg to all our member theatres as we begin to re-open our theatres and tread the boards once again!

Joe Barton, President

It is with a sad heart that we share our news with you today. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Camp Martweenie 2020. We care for our campers and their safety is our number one priority. Since 2014, we have loved spending time with our campers at Camp Martweenie! The faith you place in us to educate and entertain your children in the area of theatre, is an honor. We are also grateful to Footlighters, Inc. and their continued support, and we hope to return next year for another great camp production.

For those campers who have already paid their registration, you have two options:

You can request a full refund which will be issued to your original payment. Unfortunately, if you made a payment via PayPal, any fees cannot be refunded.

You may choose to apply your payment towards private lessons with our instructors. Lessons are available for ANY age (not just the camp age range) and will be scheduled virtually at times that work for you. Lessons can be on the topic of your choice! We can focus on vocals, acting and dancing skills. We can also tackle creating acting resumes and preparing for auditions. Lessons are individually designed for your unique needs and can be as often as you wish. Choosing private lessons also allows Camp Martweenie the financial support to ensure we are back and better than ever next year!

For those campers who have not yet registered/paid, you can still sign-up for individual lessons. Lessons are 45 Minutes in length and are $30 per lesson.

To request your refund or to sign up for your individual lessons, please contact us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

With Thanks,

Amanda and Emily
