Burlington Municipal Band Made up of talented community musicians, the band presents concerts at the Crapo Park band shell each Sunday evening at 7:30 P.M. during the summer months.

It's the final concert of our 2026, and we are so glad you joined us for our 100th season!

We're already looking forward to our Centennial Celebration next year, and invite you to help us celebrate the rich history of the Burlington Municipal Band.

This month's edition of The Partnership features Viking Riverboat Dockings with the South Hill Brass. The South Hill Brass, comprised of members of the Burlington Municipal Band, selflessly dedicates time each docking day to provide a warm musical welcome to Viking Mississippi guests. As waves of visitors disembark
the ship, they are immediately greeted with a blend of American and brass band traditional tunes, including sing-along classics like “When the Saints Go Marching In” and staples from John Philip Sousa.

Each docking day, common feedback received from Viking guests centers around the warmth and friendliness received from Burlington residents, the cleanliness of
the city, and the uniqueness of Downtown Burlington.

However, when they first arrive, guest after guest will remark on how Greater Burlington offers the best
welcome they’ve received on their voyage. The South Hill Brass, along with the countless volunteer greeters who man the gangway and the route to excursion coaches, are the reason Viking Mississippi guests will not soon forget their stop here. “We haven’t seen this anywhere else,” remarked one guest during their visit on July 9

It's hard to believe, but this Sunday, August 9th will be our final concert of the 2026 season!

Sunday's concert will feature a "Round Robin" of directors, including: Derrick Murphy, Jeremy Henman, Mark Eveleth, Jay Hauenstein, Janel Horn, Jim Priebe, Carmen Lachnitt and Sue Kristensen.

We're so thankful you have joined us for our 100th season and we're looking forward to our Centennial Celebration in 2027!

We're setting all kinds of records this year!

While the highest actual air temperature recorded was July 11, 1936 at 111 degrees, the highest heat index was 121 degrees on July 26 of this year.

If you were at this concert....it was HOT! 🔥
