new cast on as we wait out this huge snow storm! new design of mine, a loose gauge top down sweater. can be made with any weight of yarn (as long as gauge is met), but i recommend no smaller than fi*****ng held with lace weight (approx DK weight). it’s a simple oversized drop shoulder set in sleeve design with twisted ribbing on the neckline, cuffs, and hem. stay tuned for more updates!

i wanted a smaller project bag… so i started crocheting one with some ugly scrap cotton last night. just finished it and it’s perfect? i will most likely be making more. fun fact: i hate knitting with cotton and i hate wearing cotton yarn, but i don’t mind crocheting with it.

new spontaneous wip! a very simple stockinette cowl with 2x2 rib on either end. i casted this on last night with some leftover yarns. i just ripped out my look at my holes top as i was not enjoying it, so the light blue yarn is from that. it’s quince & co chickadee. the mohair is some lana grossa silk hair that i bought randomly many years ago before i even knew what mohair was.

i have no clue if i’m a cowl person/if i will even wear this, but if i won’t, i have many family members who would love it.

good morning loves! here is my progress on my cropped fluffy cardigan design. it’s a simple raglan design knitted flat. i used wool and the gang feeling good yarn in beige blonde, but for future i will be using a DK weight yarn held with a mohair. i’ve got lots to talk to y’all about:

1. designing
man it’s scary. so i’m having the time of my life drawing new designs and knitting up this one, but i’m also terrified of actually writing patterns and grading and all that stuff. if you guys have any tips please let me know, but also let me know if you would want to see my designs in pattern form.

2. new year!!
as we all know these past 2 years have been insane. i’m not a believer in resolutions, so i will not be making any. but i do believe in setting intentions! my intentions for the new year are based around sustainability and practicality. i want to make sure the fibers i’m using are sustainable (by my definition of the word) : meaning they are non-superwash and non-man-made. i have a decently small stash of yarn, but in that stash there are some fibers that do not meet these standards. of course i will be knitting this up without guilt, and making sure that they get used for something practical. along with this is making sure i am only knitting things that are useful to me, and only knitting things for other people who will appreciate the time and effort i put it into them, and actually USE and WEAR the things i make for them.

this has been very rambly and i will ✨not✨ be proofreading this caption so i apologize for anything nonsensical. thanks for listening❤️

i’m trying to wear my knits more often. so here’s some pictures i took of one of them yesterday. this is a heavily modified version of the i made earlier this year. the yarn is woolstok worsted.

any of y’all who have been here for a minute might notice that this used to have a tie at the top, but the other day i switched it out for buttons. it’s so much more practical for me now.
