In Memoriam: Kalani Engles
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved artist and friend, Kalani Engles. For more than four decades, Kalani created a remarkable body of work inspired by her profound connection to nature, her Hawaiian heritage, and her extraordinary sensitivity to color, light, and composition. A masterful painter and printmaker, Kalani had a rare ability to see beyond the obvious—to find unexpected colors, patterns, and moments of beauty in the landscapes around her—and to invite us to see the world more deeply through her eyes. Her vibrant spirit, generosity, warmth, and creative vision touched countless lives, both through her art and through the many relationships she cherished.
Kalani’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, but her legacy will endure through the extraordinary works she created and the lives she touched. We are honored to have represented Kalani for more than two decades and will continue to celebrate, represent, and showcase her work, ensuring that her remarkable artistic voice remains a living part of our gallery and our community. Through her paintings and monotypes, Kalani will continue to inspire us to look more carefully, see more deeply, and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
A memorial service for Kalani will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 2:00 PM at The Family Farm, 1400 Portola Road, Woodside, CA, followed by a reception. We extend our deepest condolences to Kalani’s husband, Charles, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and many dear friends. We will miss her deeply, but are grateful that her extraordinary spirit will live on through her art.
