Cubberley Artists in Residence contributed images and Patrick editioned riso prints to exhibit and share with the community. The photo I posted of my indigo-stained hands (immediately below this in my grid) from earlier this summer stuck with me, so I wove it! Fresh out of my residency in the Digital Weaving Lab, this piece is featured in my Solo Show, “Woven Bodies” on display through this weekend at The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (MVCPA).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reach out directly and I’d be happy to meet you there for a private tour, or stop by at your own convenience. This weekend there will also be performances of “H.M.S Pinafore” by and “Center Stage: 10 Years of Upstage Theater,” if you are in the mood for a musical alongside an artshow!

My Solo Show “Woven Bodies” has been up at The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (MVCPA) since July 8th and will close on August 11th. The exhibition features a significant collection of abstract figurative textile works, many on view for the first time ever!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reach out directly and I’d be happy to meet you there for a private tour. Or consider this your formal invitation to pop in for an impromptu visit at your convenience! Alongside the Center’s robust Visual Arts Program, they (of course!) have fabulous Performances advertised in the Center’s name. Time it right and you could even catch a performance and art show in a single outing.

The closing weekend of International Fiber Arts XII at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts snuck up on me! I am honored to have been included again, this time by Jurors and Jessica Hemmings. My exhibited works include two handwoven digital jacquard pieces, displayed alongside an exciting range of 90 fiber artworks from artists around the world.
I admit I’m a bit biased, but this biennial fiber exhibition gets my vote for the best event and put on, and you’ll have to wait two more years for the next iteration!

After two days of Indigo Dye Workshops and a bonus day of dyeing with fellow Cubberley Artists in Residence, my hands are...quite blue! Swipe to see some more fun creations that emerged from our Community Dye Vat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I love sharing the joys of natural dye, especially when it’s a first introduction to enthusiastic newcomers. I’ve now hosted four free dye workshops through my residency with , and have had so much fun spreading some color around the community.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These recent Indigo Workshops filled up with folks who attended Open Studios before I could even post an invitation to sign up. So if you’re interested in getting advanced notice for my workshops next year, now’s a great time to join my mailing list (link in bio). I only send out mailings to share important art news, never more than quarterly, so you’ll just be the first to find out about all my most exclusive offerings 💙

For the past few weeks I’ve been getting acquainted with .stanford ‘s TC2 loom in the . So far that’s mostly meant weaving up samples, some deep cleaning, and loom maintenance with . The loom is operating pretty well now, so I’m looking forward to weaving some of my own work and especially helping students on their projects. It looks like things will be pretty quiet for the summer, but come fall, hopefully this TC2 will see a lot more activity!

My artwork is up at Rinconada Library and will be on view through April 30th! Besides the fact that I just generally LOVE libraries, it’s an especially serendipitous moment to hang work here while has a stunning textile show up next door. Come on by to see both “Cut From the Same Cloth: Textiles and Technology” and my art.
Also, remember to engage with our fabulous local libraries to make sure that they’re always adequately acknowledged and funded. I max out my audiobook borrows every month through and those listens are the soundtrack to most of my studio hours. It feels particularly full-circle to be exhibiting my work with the folks that help literarily boost my creativity, with a big thanks to all the generosity of our local librarians!

It’s rare that I have to drop off two pieces in the same weekend, but these works were both curated into museums at opposite ends of the Bay Area at the same time! Both handwoven digital jacquard pieces just happened to be hanging side-by-side in my studio when the time came to pack them up and move them out together. Thankfully they both fit in car!
“Soft Body” went south to for “Boundaries” opening July 19th and “Too Heavy” went north to for the Northern California Open on July 13th. Hopefully we all survive this insane heat, and I’ll see you at the openings?
