🚵 New Trail Feature Alert 🚵

Thanks to our continued partnership with the Fort Worth Mountain Bikers Association (FWMBA), a wooden berm feature has just been added to the Chisenhall Hike & Bike Trail on Cactus Jack! City staff have inspected the berm, and it's officially open and ready to ride. 🎉

This is the latest addition in a year of awesome new trail features. These improvements bring more variety and challenge for riders while showing what community partnerships and volunteers can do. Get out there and check it out!

This summer's heat didn't stop our incredible Adopt-A-Spot volunteers from showing up for Burleson! Throughout July and August, dedicated individuals and groups gave their time to clean up roadways, ditches, and public spaces across our city.

🌳Oak Valley Park North is officially a Certified Wildlife Habitat!🌳

Big news for Burleson's green spaces: thanks to the hard work of our Urban Forester Dr. Jessie Farris, Oak Valley Park North has earned National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat status.

To earn this certification, a site has to provide:
🍓 Food: natural food sources such as native plants, seeds, berries, fruit, nectar, pollen, and insects
💧 Water: a clean, reliable water source
🌿 Cover: trees, shrubs, and other areas for shelter from weather and predators
🐣 Places to Raise Young: safe spaces for wildlife to nest and grow
♻️ Sustainable Practices: environmentally responsible landscape management practices, including native plants, soil and water conservation, resource conservation, and reduced chemical use

This certification is part of Burleson's continued commitment to urban forestry, wildlife and pollinator support, and environmental stewardship across our park system. Next time you're at Oak Valley Park North, take a stroll and see it for yourself!

We wanted to give our community a heads-up about a bit of maintenance happening this week!

On Wednesday and Thursday this week, our Parks team will be performing a quick turf repair in Mayor Calvin Vera Plaza, specifically in the area in front of the stage. Sections of turf will be temporarily pulled back so the subsurface can be leveled, helping create safer and more sustainable ground for everyone to enjoy.

We appreciate your patience while this quick improvement is underway.
