Well, folks… the long weekend has officially arrived! 😎

Gary’s got the coffee, Shady’s got the adventure department fired up, and around here that can only mean one thing:

TIME TO HIT THE TRAIL! 🐾🚗💨

Labor Day is a good reminder to slow down for a minute and appreciate the folks who keep our towns, businesses, families, and communities moving forward. 🇺🇸

And if you’re looking for something fun this weekend, Wichita Falls has Retro South Video Game Expo happening Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th at the Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall. 🎮

Fair point, Shady.

But around here, Hump Day is just another excuse to get outside, take a little ride around town, and enjoy the company of your best friend.

And Shady?

She doesn't care if it's Monday, Wednesday or Saturday.

❤️🐾 SUNDAY, AUGUST 30 — “SLOW DOWN & ENJOY THE TRAIL”

ALONG THE TRAIL WITH GARY & SHADY

Sunday morning.

The coffee is hot.

The town is quiet.

And Shady is already standing by the door.

“Come on, Gary. We’re wasting daylight.” 😂🐾

Today, the adventure heads toward Wichita Falls again as the Hotter’N Hell weekend wraps up.

The Wee-Chi-Tah Off-Road Trail Run starts at 7:00 AM Sunday at the Bridwell Ag Center, with 10K and half-marathon distances. The Quadzilla and Triple Threat awards follow at 10:00 AM.

Then he looks at Shady.

Shady looks at Gary.

Gary says, “Think we should run?”

Shady says…

“I thought you said SUNDAY.” 😂😂🐶

So instead, they take the scenic route home.

A little Burkburnett sunshine.

A friendly wave.

Maybe a stop for coffee.

And plenty of time to appreciate the simple things.

Because the best adventures aren’t always about how fast you go or how far you travel.

They’re about who is beside you when you get there. ❤️

And Gary wouldn’t trade his four-legged co-pilot for all the miles in Texas.

Gary’s got the coffee.

Shady’s got her nose pointed toward the door.

And that can only mean one thing…

IT’S TIME TO HIT THE TRAIL! 😂

Today, our adventure takes us toward Wichita Falls for the 45th Annual Hotter’N Hell Hundred. Thousands of cyclists are taking on the heat, with the endurance rides getting underway at 7:05 AM. The event also features the Finish Line Village, food, entertainment, and the Grava del Fuego gravel ride this evening.

Gary says, “Shady, you ready to ride?”

Shady says, “I’ll supervise from the air-conditioned truck, thank you very much.” 🐶😂

And honestly…

That’s why Shady is management.

And this weekend is a perfect fit for Along the Trail with Gary & Shady because the Hotter’N Hell Hundred is happening right in Wichita Falls. The official schedule has the big endurance ride Saturday morning and the Wee-Chi-Tah trail runs Sunday morning.

Good Saturday morning from Burkburnett! ☀️☕🐾

Gary poured the coffee.

Shady checked the weather.

Gary said, “Looks hot.”

Shady said, “Looks like a good day for a car ride!” 😂

That’s why Shady is the boss.

Today, the trail takes us toward Wichita Falls as the Hotter’N Hell Hundred reaches its big Saturday ride. Riders roll out at 7:05 AM, with the Finish Line Village and food court opening at 8:00 AM. There’s outdoor entertainment during the day, and the Grava del Fuego Gravel Grind gets rolling at 7:05 PM.

But they’ll be cheering from the sidelines!

Well…

And Friday has officially arrived!

Today we’re taking the scenic route around town, waving at a few friends, and enjoying that small-town Texas feeling that makes Burkburnett home. ❤️

🚴 HOTTER’N HELL WEEKEND IS HEATING UP!

The Hotter’N Hell Hundred is rolling through nearby Wichita Falls all weekend, and today is packed with action:

🚵 Wee-Chi-Tah Mountain Bike races — starting 8 AM
🏁 Criterium races — beginning this afternoon
🎪 Consumer Show — 1–9 PM
🍝 Spaghetti Dinner — 5:30–9 PM
👧 Rug Rats Mountain Bike Race — 6 PM

The big endurance ride happens Saturday morning, with the official start scheduled for about 7:05 AM.
