I had an amazing opportunity and privilege of designing Tiana’s grandmother for a Seda Shampoo commercial!

This particular product focused on those with more curly hair textures, specifically black individuals.
Who better to lead the charge than the first Black Disney Princess herself, empowering the young and old to embrace the beauty of their natural hair✨

When tasked with designing Tiana’s Grandmother, of course the first person that came to mind was my very own grandmother!
“The Princess and the Frog” was one of her favorite films we’d watch together and some of my fondest memories were from visiting her each Sunday for dinner.

And let me tell ya… GRANDMA COULD COOK! Food was her love language and you could feel it the moment you stepped through her door. She would prepare all sorts of meals, insuring that you left her house with both a full heart and belly.
It was her unique way of showing how much she cared for you…how much she believed in you. Her unconditional love was both empowering and magical.

Naturally, she served as the perfect inspiration.
Just as she empowered me to be the person I am today, the character she inspired would then help to empower Tiana.

To bring it all full circle,
I felt that it would be fitting to name her, Teresa. Honoring the legacy of a woman who’s love and guidance will always be there to shine forevermore. My evening star✨

I am incredibly honored to be featured as part of at Walt Disney World among the other talented artists displayed in the Art of Disney Store at Disney Springs!

In Disney Animation’s over 100 year long history, I am beyond thrilled becoming a new addition to a list of the few black hand-drawn animators/artists that have graced the studio since, such as: Floyd Norman, Ron Husband, Dan Haskett and Bruce Smith.

Through this role I will continue encouraging young black artist to pursue their dreams, and ensuring that people of color from all ages know that they are always welcome within our creative spaces ✨

Moana 2 releases in theaters today!

I had a blast working with Eric Goldberg as he lead our hand-drawn animation team bringing Maui’s tattoo “Mini Maui” to life!

Being my first Animated feature, I had the privilege of collaborating with our incredibly talented CG animators on various shots in a perfect blend of art and technology.

A special thanks to all my friends and family for your unwavering support during this production. You all remind me that no matter what , I can rise to any occasion and go beyond my own expectations.

Happy 5 year Anniversary to Chuck E Cheese’s “Pumpkins in my Pockets”.

It was such a fun opportunity getting my feet wet in boarding, animating and directing my own animated short.

I am still overwhelmed by the response it has gotten among fans on YouTube as one of the most viewed videos on Chuck E. Cheese’s YouTube channel. So thank you ALL for your support!

✨10 years, 4 divisions … countless stories.✨

This past month, I celebrated a decade of service and making magic with The Walt Disney Company.

Ever since my first visit to Walt Disney World at the age of 3, I wanted nothing more than to be a part of this wondrous world. Once the time came, I set off to California to pursue a career in animation with hopes of getting my foot in the Disney door to expand my knowledge on the company’s history and work alongside it’s timeless characters.

Little did I know, that dream would come true in so many unexpected ways . I am forever grateful for every role, interaction, performance and drawing I’ve been able to create. My hope is that through my work, I’ve been able to inspire someone the same way I was so long ago.

I want to thank every single person I have crossed paths with on this amazing journey. You all helped to shape the path of my career allowing me to grow and become the person I am today.
To the individuals who have supported me throughout my entire journey … words cannot express how thankful I am to have you in my life. Through the good and tough times, your strength, inspiration and unconditional love was the beacon of light I needed to persevere and realize my dreams.

Having been a Magic Maker, Performer, Character Artist, and now an Animator, some may think my dream finally came true, but my dreams came true 10 years ago when I was given the opportunity to become what I’ve always wanted to be… A Storyteller.

It’s so much more than the destination, it’s the journey and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Primarily brought on to Animate Mickey’s Cameo, I was lucky enough to also animate the Duck himself!

Here is the Clean-up and Final line drawing I did for the “D.I.Y Duck” title poster.

Mark Henn creating the original drawing, wanted to capture the style of the classic posters from the 40s hence the noticeable thick to thin lines on the final drawing.

Looking back, this brings my experiences with Disney consumer products and Yellowshoes full circle✨

HAPPY 90th BIRTHDAY DONALD DUCK✨

As one of Disney’s and the worlds most iconic characters, bringing us 9 decades of Laughter, inspiration and countless adventures.
Donald continues to stand as a beacon of hope and resilience for us to relate to through both good and bad times.

It’s been 63 years since his last short “The Litter Bug” (1961).
Today, I am honored to be a part of his brand new short “D.I.Y Duck”, Directed but the Disney Legend Mark Henn.

For the title poster, I was given the privilege of creating the final Clean-up drawing for Donald based on Mark’s original Drawing.

Before the night is over, I wanted to give a huge thanks to everyone who tooned in!

I truly hope that ”Once upon a studio” brought the Magic, Laughs, and Heart that we all know Disney so well for✨

I’m still in awe that I had the opportunity to work on this amazing short along side so many talented individuals, who have inspired me in so many ways.

As Disney turns 100, I will forever be thankful for that first Dream, all the paper and pencils, and well….
