In West Salem, Ohio this Friday at Dragway 42. Ultimate Bullfighters (UBF) is an extreme, acrobatic sport that has nothing to do with the traditional Mexican or Spanish matador spectacles.The two styles of bullfighting feature completely different rules, objectives, and treatments of the animals involved. The Goal: Athletes compete against a fighting bull in a 60-second round. Instead of killing the animal, they are judged on their athleticism, agility, and how close they can get to the bull while performing tricks like backflips and dives.The Animal: The bulls are not harmed. They are highly athletic, smaller, and faster than the bulls used in traditional riding.The Style: It originated from rodeo protection bullfighters (the "clowns" who protect fallen bull riders), but has since evolved into a standalone, high-stakes sport. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend it. It’s super entertaining.

Huge Congratulations to Eli Hershberger, of Wooster, for winning the first event of the 2026 Buckin Ohio series. He had two tough rides to come out on top winning $3,000. Congratulations as well to Medina County Cowgirl ,Cheyenne Honigman, who had the best run out of a field of tough horses on tough ground.

Opening Day Celebration Buckin Ohio is coming this Saturday, May 23, and it's going to be a fantastic event, rain or shine, featuring cowboys, cowgirls, announcers, bullfighters, and many guests traveling from out of state to compete in our championship tournament in October. Please dress for the weather and pray for sunshine. We're excited to see you all there.
