We are proud to announce the upcoming release of COSMIC SYMPHONY, directed by Academy Award-nominated composer and filmmaker Laura Karpman, with Peter Rotter serving as Executive Producer.
“Being able to support our community and highlight the profound loss caused by the wildfires - the homes and memories taken from families, our musicians and artists, and so much of our music community’s history - has been a true honor. Laura’s vision for this project has been unwavering, and I couldn’t be prouder to join her in celebrating the release of Cosmic Symphony.” Peter Rotter
ABOUT COSMIC SYMPHONY
Cosmic Symphony explores a truth every musician knows: musical instruments have souls.
The film celebrates four iconic instruments, including pianos from The Wizard of Oz and A Star Is Born, all lost in the devastating 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
Through John Clayton, Susie Chung, Starr Parodi, and Diane Warren, their stories live again, culminating in an animated send-off toward an imagined future: a Cosmic Symphony.
The Oscar-eligible short documentary is directed by Oscar-nominated composer Laura Karpman, with Executive Producers John Legend and Mike Jackson of Get Lifted Film Co., Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Rita Wilson, Christina Kounelias, and Peter Rotter.
Amy Andersson serves as Co-Producer, with Laura Karpman and Lorenza Muñoz serving as Producers.
