Dramatic Artists Agency acknowledges the passing of legendary casting director and producer, Fred Roos. He and his casting partner, the late Mike Fenton, revolutionized casting and developed many of the techniques, procedures and standards employed by casting directors around the world today. They were instrumental in cleaning up the "casting couch" culture that existed in Hollywood and creating a safe, legitimate environment for auditions to take place. Mike was a wonderful mentor to me and much of what he advised came from the thoughts and hearts of both he and Fred. They're combined casting credits are the best of the industry from the 1960's to early 2000's. Fred continued advising productions up until his passing as did Mike who passed away a few years ago. Fred and Mike were stars in their respective fields, but the general public didn't necessarily know them however the public did know the illustrious careers they helped launch including Jack Nicholson, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, James Earl Jones, James Caan, Robert DeNiro, Nicholas Cage, Al Pacino, Kevin Costner, Tom Cruise, Ralph Macchio, Rob Lowe, Diane Lane, Richard Gere and Matt Dillon. Rest In Peace Fred, thank you for your incredible contributions to the art of filmmaking and please say hello to Mike for me!

The legendary producer helped launch the careers of such stars as Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson.

Dramatic Artists Agency is sponsoring the 8th Annual International Fashion Film Festival on Saturday, October 14th at the Carco Theater in Renton, 1717 Maple Valley Hwy. The Red Carpet Arrival and Reception starts at 6PM. Finalist Award Screening begin at 7PM with the Film Awards Announcement at 8PM followed immediately by the "Champagne and Dessert" Celebration! We really need to support these filmmakers whose work is an inspiration to all aspiring Indie Filmmakers! We are proud of the theme messages of this year's films, especially our foreign selections. They encourage us to care about the world we share and present it in the most entertaining, fun and artful ways! Official film selection screenings begin at 3PM and are all great films to watch. If you dedicate a couple hours of your day or evening to keep this art/film medium alive you won't be disappointed. Non-profit Indie Film Festivals are declining rapidly and we need to keep the work of these decent, artistic, earnest filmmakers alive on screen. The acting performances are terrific! The screenplays, costume designs, original music compositions, art direction, production designs and concepts are fantastic! Our audience tells us that every year!

Productions are now being allowed to make vaccinations a requirement for actors who wish to work on filmsets. SAG/AFTRA and the Producer's union (PGA) have approved a mandate requiring that actors be vaccinated against COVID with all doses being completed at least 14 days prior to filming. In the last year, SAG/AFTRA and PGA have enforced a strict set of work guidelines by productions wishing to film during the COVID pandemic in regards to their members safety, but new negotiations between SAG/AFTRA and the PGA have added the vaccination protocol late last week to begin immediately, with casting submissions already reflecting the vaccination mandate yesterday in notices to talent representatives stating that only actors who have completed their vaccinations and have met the guidelines surrounding this requirement as well as the other COVID19 safety protocols already in place. Official Proof of vaccination will be required of actors as well before they're hired.

Dramatic Artists Agency is just about to launch our new website. We have asked our clients to get in touch with us to make sure all their information is up to date on file. We have requested that our clients open or update their accounts with Casting Frontier and Casting Networks if they wish to continue being submitted. Once our new website launches it will feature only the clients who have responded to our above requests and have provided updated information to us and on the casting sites. Also, for those clients who are being represented in additional markets, please make sure your Actors Access/Breakdown Account is active and up to date with information. We will be dropping clients from the sites who have not maintained their accounts with updated photos, resume credits, profile fields and contact information. We will be offering another talent orientation meeting explaining all the new processes of the post-pandemic market in August, further details will be coming about that. We look forward to seeing you there!

This is an important notice for all parents or legal guardians of minors pursuing work permits in the Entertainment Industry. This link will take you to the Government site that tells about the impact of Bill #3175 signed into effect by Governor Newsom in California. This bill has gone into immediate effect. Basically, the bill states it is now the responsibility of the minor's parents or guardian as opposed to their employer who are required to insure their minor receives proper training to prevent sexual harassment. This is required before a child work permit will be issued by the State of California's Department of Labor. This site will tell parents/guardians where they can go on-line to receive and complete the necessary training (Via video instruction and education).

When Scott and Pam Nolte founded Seattle's Taproot Theatre in 1976, it was a touring company performing in churches, schools and libraries. They've since built a theater in Greenwood that serves over 180,000 people a year and has 3,000 subscribers.
