Inspired by classic television of yesteryear, each month Varietyville debuts a brand new, one of a kind live show in Los Angeles, CA. Austin Walker’s Varietyville is a monthly live show at the LA Connection Comedy Theatre that pays homage to the timeless spectacle of variety shows and vaudeville, serving as a playground for Tinseltown’s funniest and most peculiar performers. Drawing inspiration fr
om the eccentric charm of classics like The Dean Martin Show, Hee Haw, and The Muppet Show, Varietyville blends scripted storytelling with improvisational blunders, guided by the uproarious antics of our Southern-fried showrunner and Mayor of Varietyville, Austin Walker, and eclectic characters from “The Varietyvillians” Chad Fisher, Tatjana Vujovic, and Nayla Savannah. Each performance showcases side-splitting local talent, plus the foot-stomping tunes of “The Varietyville Pickers” Tom Hanslowe and Al Rigoletto, with regular appearances by Jim Henson puppeteer Dan Garza (“Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock,” “The Happytime Murders”) and legendary character actor M.C. Gainey (“Con Air,” “Lost,” “Django Unchained”). Past guests have included variety show legend Ronnie Schell, (“The Jim Nabors Hour,” “Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.”), swoon-inducer Dylan Chambers, original 50’s bobcat Jimmy Angel, primatologist-turned-comedian Natalia Reagan, Penn and Teller Foolers The Cosmic Romantics, Broadway’s Eric B. Anthony, comedians Chad Opitz and Willie Hunter, and more! With a dynamic and revolving cast of characters and performers, Varietyville is a reliably good time for anyone with an appetite for laughter and a taste for the ridiculous.
