1. What is different about your service and others?
My service is different from others due to it being mobile. I can/will travel to you. I am in your home where you are most relaxed and more importantly where you feel in control. I have talked with numerous clients who said they felt rushed by the producer/engineer as if he/she had something better to do. My service allows for a more personal experience. I am here to give advice and to raise confidence so that you give the best performance for the song. I have had clients leave big fancy studios to work with me just because I take the time to create a relationship and show that my main goal is to get them an awesome product not just pass them along to make some money.
2. How does the service work?
First you contact me about what you need done. I will talk to you about what needs to be done to achieve what you are wanting to do. Then I will ask for the address of the location we will be recording. Once the travel distance is calculated I will be able to give you a complete quote based on how many hours it will take and how far I have to travel. We chose a date that works best for you and then I come over and we get it all done. Simple as that.
3. Whats the quality like?
I get a lot of people who say "whats the sound quality like?" and "Thats a cool set-up but I'd rather go to a professional studio." Well I can record at 32 bit-float or 64 bit. I use the same DAW that you will find in almost any professional studio, Pro-Tools. I also have Logic Pro 9 and X which is also a very common thing is some of the nicest studios today. My set up has exactly what you would find in a studio. I have the ability to record at very high bit depth and can record up 200 tracks in just one session. Don't be fooled by "Big is better." I am a music production student at Full Sail University, I am up to speed and very informed on new technology and how it compares to older technology. My set up offers you the same exact quality as the biggest studio's in town.
4. How will my vocals sound without a sound booth?
Like I mentioned I am up to date on the latest technology and I can inform you that sound booths aren't really needed this day in age. The reason is due to two things. Noise gate and room simulation. Noise gate allows me to set a distance/volume at which the microphone will not pick up sounds. So if you live on a busy street or you have kids playing in another room they won't be heard on your vocal track. Room simulation is exactly what it sounds like. What the top producers and engineers do is record the vocal as dry as they can get it and then go in and simulate a room your in. So if you want to sound like you are in a small space with wood walls I can do that. The need of acoustically treated rooms aren't needed these days due to very elaborate room simulation software. So we can record anywhere in your house.
5. What are the downsides?
Everything has a down side and mine is that for now I can not record live drums. I do on the other hand have multiple state of the art drum simulations of some of the most famous kits ever made and can create a track that could fool even the pros.
6. If the "Big" stuff in other studios isn't needed why do they still have it?
Simply put it is because they most likely financed most of the equipment and it isn't worth what they owe. So they continue to try and make you believe that they have the latest and greatest when they really don't.
7. Why should we believe you?
There is no need to doubt me. Go listen to the music I have created and compare it to all the other studios in town. I take the time to make sure all the instruments are tuned and that the drums are spot on and that the vocal has no hum in the background. I want to be known around the world as a top of the line producer/engineer. I am only 21 and have a lot to work for. I am not someone who has been offering the same mediocre recordings for the past 20 years and most don't have formal schooling in the recording process. So it is your overall choice. But I can promise you that once you use me you will not want to deal with the "Local Producers" again.
8. What is Full Sail University?
Full Sail University is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Between 2012 and 2014 196 Full Sail Graduates were accredited for working on 152 Grammy nominated songs and albums, 40 of which were Grammy winners. Thats just in the past 3 years. There is a reason it costs double of other schools that offer music production. This school was built for the arts and it shows in the success of its students. They are the top of the line school to go to if you want to be the best you can be.
Thanks,
Dirk Matthew Myers
