Our Saturday Night Rodeo, held March through November, brings together bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, mutton bustinโ€™, calf scramble, Texas BBQ, live country music and dancing for a full evening of family-friendly entertainment. Tejas is more than a rodeo. Dine year-round at the award-winning Tejas Steakhouse & Saloon, shop Western apparel, gifts and custom hats at the Tejas Company Store, or plan an event that gives your guests a one-of-a-kind Western experience. We host corporate, convention and social events across our distinctive indoor and outdoor venues, including Western Sky and the Tejas Rodeo Grounds. Custom experiences may include private rodeos, live country bands, line dancing, Roping 101, mechanical bull riding, custom hat branding, whiskey tastings, cocktail making and Rodeo Olympics team building.

โ€ข A qualified ride requires the cowboy to stay aboard for 8 seconds with one hand in the bull rope. His free hand canโ€™t touch the bull, himself, or the equipment.
โ€ข A bull ride is scored out of 100 points. 50 for the cowboy and 50 for the bull.
โ€ข The bullโ€™s 50 points are based on how difficult he is to ride, including his buck, kick, spin, speed and overall power.
โ€ข The cowboyโ€™s 50 points come from how well he rides the bull โ€” his control, balance, rhythm and ability to stay in time with the bullโ€™s movements.
So a higher score doesnโ€™t just mean the cowboy stayed on.. it usually means a tougher bull and a better ride. ๐Ÿค

Breakaway is quick.. like REALLY quick. From the time the calf leaves the chute, these girls only have a few seconds to get in position, find their shot, and get a rope on. Thereโ€™s not much room for hesitation. ๐Ÿค
