CALLING ALL PAINTERS - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TONIGHT!!!

The flats for I'll Be Back Before Midnight still need to be painted and we are running out of time. If you have time and ability to help with that please come. We are meeting Wednesday Sept 2nd at 5:30pm until 8:30pm. We are planning to have another session on Friday but details to be determined based on how much we get done Wednesday. Come to Optimum Community Center, Room 305 at 5:30pm ready to work.

AUDITION NOTICE!
“A Doublewide Texas Christmas” by Jones, Hope, Wooten is an outrageously funny comedy featuring ten hilarious characters. This play is fast-paced, a bit chaotic, and brings a wonderful message of Christmas spirit. Set in the present day, in the tiny town of Doublewide, Texas the town finds its incorporation papers are put in jeopardy; the citizens of Doublewide become determined to bolster their little town’s legitimacy, setting their sights on the county-wide “Battle of The Mangers” competition, but further chaos ensues when the Mayor, Joveeta Crumpler, must wrangle her celebrity-obsessed mother, her beleaguered brother, and her demoralized best friend who’s at the end of her rope from dating “every loser this side of the Rio Grande.” Joveeta also finds herself increasingly wary of the newest resident, Patsy Price, who’s fresh out of the local mental institution and has her own devious agenda to settle an old score.

* Georgia Dean – (F), gregarious ball of fire, hot pink is her life, and best friend of Jovetta
* Lark Barken – (F), not from around these parts (from Oregon), guileless, young and innocent resident of Doublewide
* Haywood Sloggett – (M), spry older man, long-time resident of Doublewide, brother of Patsy Price
* Patsy Price – (F), former society matron, sarcastic, competitive, and a little narcissistic. Newest resident of Doublewide
* Norwayne “Baby” Crumpler – (M), enthusiastic “good ol’ boy,” not the brightest, Jovetta’s brother
* Caprice Crumpler – (F), an older woman battling age (and losing the fight), dresses in form-fitting clothing too young for her age, Jovetta’s mother
* Jovetta Crumpler – (F) the stressed out mayor of Doublewide struggling to keep the town afloat
* Harley Dobbs – (Voiceover Only) (M) a condescending man-splainer
* Nash Sloggett – (M) Rugged outdoorsman, globetrotting son of Haywood Sloggett

Ron is having a little fun to celebrate our finishing our move to the new room at Optimum community center. As part of the remodel we have moved to 3 brand new beautifully renovated rooms! ( the 300 wing)After this weekend our final move was completed and the 100 rooms are schedule for demolition on the 30 th. Those rooms served us well these past 6 years! Our never ending gratitude to the city and parks and rec for giving us a home and now having larger shiny new rooms!!! Au Revoir and bonjour!
