Today is a beautiful day to remember and reflect, it is important to also move forward and be thankful for the blessings we enjoy.

With Robyn heading off to college in a s.h.o.r.t. amount of time, too short, in my opinion, her cat is struggling a bit. She knows things are happening. She has taken to coming out into the living room more, but still finds her girls' stuff. In this case, she is lying on a box containing a shelf Robyn will build for her dorm room. Yesterday, it was sheets and clothes, tomorrow who knows what else, because it all needs to smell like her, and Robyn's new welding jacket is still covered in her hair, after two rounds in the wash.

She probably will never truly be my friend, and that is okay, but we will all miss our girl, and we know that she will still come home for visits.

Back when I would stitch ever.single.day...

I miss the calm and quiet of stitching but not the moments that were rushed and when I would stitch from before sun up until after everyone went to bed.

I miss the designing and the completion. Those moments brought me joy.

Maybe one day again soon.

In the meantime, I will continue to recover, and search for inspiration among the thousands of patterns both vintage and my own, and maybe create something new for someone, and of course stitch a special request here and there.

Real life, or as of late, Reel life.

I am a cat person, I really am.

She rarely will let me near her but sometimes will sit by me. Her favorite human is actually home but is asleep a.t.m.

Was I okay with being trapped, of course. The pain is so worth it a.t.m.

Why?

It gives me more time to watch my newest favorite "obsessions," at least, according to my girls.

2024 was a year, and boy, was it ever.

There were sweet moments and beautiful memories right along with unexpected and unplanned events.

I have always heard that God never gives you more than you can handle, and for the most part, I have always believed that, but 2024 was a test of that belief.

Don't get me wrong, I also believe wholeheartedly that we are blessed every single day, but there were definitely times of trial in 2024.

So, onto 2025...

There are no resolutions this year, and there are no giant long-term/big goals so far. Again, thanks 2024, just some smaller, short-term, possibly more attainable "hopes" for the New Year.

Stay tuned...and yes, I can still do hard things!

Do you make big resolutions each new year?

In this busy season of life, hard moments define what you are capable of and who you truly are. I am certainly convinced of that.

It has truly been a hot minute since I have posted, and it seems strange. Life sometimes shifts just a bit or completely takes you in the absolute opposite direction.

I think things are a little in between for me right now, but I wouldn't change that.

I will try and post a little more often, but in the meantime, just remember that you are loved, and if "I Can..." So Can You!

Life as a farm wife is busy during harvest.

Yes, I am still recovering from my sideways hospital adventures, all four of them, and I am still coveeting all of the healing prayers, and such positive thoughts. But, I was finally feeling a little more like myself and even had extra energy this morning, so here we are...

According to my sweet husband, all he does is drive tractors, but he actually has a fancy job title that goes along with his 25+ years with the same great company.

This year's spud haul is two five gallon buckets of russets, when our girls were younger, he would bring home two large burlap sacks of Reds and one large sack of Russets, and I would cut, par boil and freeze so many freezer bags of assorted potatoes, and the Reds were made into numerous bags of mashed potatoes. And friends would inevitably be brought some too. We miss the Reds but are grateful for what we have.

Same sweet husband told me not to overdo it, since I am still officially trying to recover but, here we are...

What is your favorite way to eat potatoes? Baked, mashed, fried, scalloped?

Pic 1: Extra large potato my husband grew versus average store size.
Pic 2: The large potato, took up half the bowl.
Pic 3: That same large potato with a "brother" and a few slightly "smaller" cousins, filled my big red pot.

One thing I have learned over the past five or six months is that my timing is not God's timing. In this season of my life, I have had a hard lesson of learning to be patient, to slow down, and to be grateful for what and who I have.

It has been frustrating at times to learn, but I am grateful nonetheless.

I am still trying to recover and am getting there, albeit it, s.l.o.w.l.y., but again, everything is happening in God's timing and not mine.

Jim and I celebrated 21 years of marriage, and we are inching ever closer to almost being empty nesters, our youngest two are both in high school now, and everyone is driving, our youngest has her permit now.

I am trying to stay busy even when I can't do too much yet, but it will come. I try to go outside once or twice a day, to put my feet in the grass, and turn my face to the sun, even for a moment, it helps.

I am grateful for all of you and am blessed beyond measure!

Have a beautiful day!

Stay tuned...
