Our Homeschool Days artists created beautiful pumpkin patches last week! 🎃

The kids used one-point perspective to sketch the pumpkins and then painted their artwork. They definitely had fun making them their own. We have pumpkins with mice hiding inside, scarecrows, cows, farmers … and even a composting machine (not pictured).

I love how much personality made its way into these. They all started with the same instructions, but every pumpkin patch turned out completely different. These kids are SO creative!

These colors look totally wrong, we know!

In our Art FUNdamentals class, our young artists drew a simple landscape and then colored everything using the OPPOSITE of the color they would normally choose.

Then came the fun part! After staring at their colorful pictures for 30 seconds, they looked at the blank side of the paper and saw the landscapes appear in their “normal” colors. Or at least... that was the plan. It wasn't perfect, but it was so much fun!

It was a fun way to see complementary colors in action!

Try our Art FUNdamentals class for $15.

In our Art FUNdamentals class, young artists build confidence and creativity while learning the foundations of art through drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and more. Look how talented our students are! We are so proud of them 👏

Our Art FUNdamentals students have been focusing on the elements of art, and each project is designed to help them understand and strengthen their mastery of an element.

If you know a young artist who is constantly drawing, painting, and creating, this is the class for them!

When we started The Art Room Collective, we had a pretty simple idea:

Make art education more accessible so that people can learn, create, and feel like they belong.

And then people started showing up. ❤️

Kids are filling sketchbooks. Adults are joining us for Paint & Sips. Homeschool families are exploring the galleries with us. Our partners opened their doors to collaborate with us.

We’re still a young nonprofit, but we’re building something special! We’re so grateful to everyone who's been part of it so far.

There’s room for you, too. 🎨
