✨Countdown to summer camp! ✨
With 4 days to go until our summer camps begin, I'll be spotlighting the exciting activities planned for each day of camp.
Our Tuesdays are dedicated to the art of MASKING, where students practice creating a “mask” to protect certain areas of their art from being drawn or painted on.
Each Tuesday, we create a new masking technique project, so even if your child participates in more than one camp, they won’t repeat the exact same lesson twice.
Students will learn how to create a “mask” with tempera paint and soft pastel. They’ll use it to protect areas of their art with this super fun technique during our 2.5-hour sessions.
I love teaching this technique because there’s a big wow moment when students remove their mask and reveal what’s underneath. It’s always a highlight for me to get to hear the “ooohs” and “ahhhs” during this part of the process 😊.
Our environment celebrates individuality, as seen in these pictures from a rising 7th-12th grade camp where students created pandas snacking on bamboo. I love that no two paintings are the same! I am a firm believer that all artists’ work should be their own, and we are proud to provide a space where kids' work is entirely theirs, free from any pre-made elements. No AI-generated demos, no pre-drawn projects, and no coloring pages here!
We still have some spaces available, so if you’re interested in a fun-filled week for the young artist in your life go to our website wondercolorsart.com to register!
