✨Countdown to summer camp! ✨

With 3 days left until our summer camps begin, I'll be spotlighting the exciting activities planned for each day of camp.

Our Wednesdays are scratch art and color pencil drawing day! Students create these two mini projects in our fun-filled 2.5 hour session!

Students will learn how to create their own scratch art (from scratch!) and will also learn how to sketch and shade a subject using color pencils. Each week the lessons change so no camper will repeat the same project twice if they participate in more than one camp. 😊

I love Wednesdays because they are always a favorite with our campers! It’s a fun and fast-paced day with lots of skills and techniques to learn!

Our studio is proud to support each young artist’s creativity, as seen in these pictures from rising 1st- rising 6th grade camps where students made scratch art ships and color pencil dragons! I just love that each child’s work is uniquely theirs, and we take great pride in providing a learning environment where students are creating their own art from start to finish. Nothing here is pre-made or pre-drawn!

We still have some spaces available, so if you’re interested in a fun-filled week for the young artist in your life go to our website wondercolorsart.com to register!

✨Countdown to summer camp! ✨

With 4 days to go until our summer camps begin, I'll be spotlighting the exciting activities planned for each day of camp.

Our Tuesdays are dedicated to the art of MASKING, where students practice creating a “mask” to protect certain areas of their art from being drawn or painted on.

Each Tuesday, we create a new masking technique project, so even if your child participates in more than one camp, they won’t repeat the exact same lesson twice.

Students will learn how to create a “mask” with tempera paint and soft pastel. They’ll use it to protect areas of their art with this super fun technique during our 2.5-hour sessions.

I love teaching this technique because there’s a big wow moment when students remove their mask and reveal what’s underneath. It’s always a highlight for me to get to hear the “ooohs” and “ahhhs” during this part of the process 😊.

Our environment celebrates individuality, as seen in these pictures from a rising 7th-12th grade camp where students created pandas snacking on bamboo. I love that no two paintings are the same! I am a firm believer that all artists’ work should be their own, and we are proud to provide a space where kids' work is entirely theirs, free from any pre-made elements. No AI-generated demos, no pre-drawn projects, and no coloring pages here!

We still have some spaces available, so if you’re interested in a fun-filled week for the young artist in your life go to our website wondercolorsart.com to register!

✨Countdown to summer camp! ✨

With 5 days to go until our summer camps begin, I'll be spotlighting the exciting activities planned for each day of camp.

Mondays in our camp are CLAY DAY Part 1, where students dive into polymer clay projects.

Each Monday, we create a new polymer clay sculpture, so even if your child participates in more than one camp, they won’t repeat the exact same lesson twice.

Students will learn how to create an armature to support their clay and then how to sculpt their creation during our 2.5-hour sessions. They'll then paint their sculptures the following Friday.

Our approach encourages creativity, as seen in a project from a rising 7th-12th grade camp where students created capybaras (and other characters) soaking in a hot tub. We take pride in showcasing student work that's entirely their own, free from any pre-made elements. All work is 100% theirs.

We finished out May with papier-mâché! Elementary schoolers made butterflies and moths, while middle and high schoolers got to pick any type of winged insect to fit the theme. I'm obsessed with how great these turned out. This project took three weeks to complete, and we used a traditional flour paste and paper technique to make them. Some of the ones my middle and high schoolers made were massive, but the photography doesn't show the scale, so I've added a student in the second slide to help convey the size 🤣. These were so fun. What a great way to end the school year! 🦋

We celebrated three graduates this year! It has been an absolute honor to have had all three of you in my classes over the years. Two of these students have been with me so long that they attended zoom classes in 2020! Sending you off is bittersweet. We are going to miss you all so much, but I know you are headed toward great things! Congratulations, Cali, Emily, and Abi! We're so proud of you 🥹

Last week’s project was monotype hummingbirds! The process is pretty interesting – we ink on plexiglass and transfer it to paper for a unique print. Then we get creative with watercolor details. It is without a doubt one of the messiest techniques we teach, but the mess is half the fun! 😂

This week was all about self portraits! I'm beyond proud of everyone for their hard work! Choosing which pics to share was super tough, they all turned out amazing! Students learned to draw themselves using graphite, tempera paint, and collage paper. We focused on proportions of the face and how to shade facial features to create form.

Happy May! Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is officially open for all returning students! New students can register starting July 1st.

Who could be crabby when making these adorable crustaceans? Last week we used a foam block printing technique to create these gorgeous prints! Students designed, cut, and carved their blocks. Then they rolled blocks with ink and printed them on their painted backgrounds. These are always a hit! I just love how bright and bold the colors are.
