We made bubbles!! 🫧✨

Last week, students practiced using colored pencils to create these beautiful bubbles. They really ✨pop✨, don’t you think?!

We love how they turned out!

Happy technique Tuesday! We’re talking about color harmony and a technique I use with my middle and high school students called the “mother color”.

This concept was famously popularized by 20th-century landscape artist Edgar Payne. Like children sharing traits with a parent, every color in the artwork shares a small piece of the mother color, which ties the whole piece together.

What future project should I use this for?? Let me know down below!

How much does a giraffe’s heart weigh? 🦒❤️ The answer may surprise you!

A giraffe has the highest documented blood pressure of any land animal—it has to, in order to pump blood about six feet up to its brain! And its heart is about the size of a basketball! 🏀

We learned so many fun giraffe facts this week while working on our giraffe projects, and I can’t wait to show you how they turned out!

For a little experiment, I weighed a stack of books equal to the weight of a giraffe’s heart and let the students guess how much it weighed. 📚

Now it’s YOUR turn!

🦒❤️ Can you guess how much a giraffe’s heart weighs?
